Appearance: District 9 usually has some of the most boring people for miles around. What is Lightning Vox? A girl who loves to be creative and doesn't want to blend in. Her bright natural red hair is usually down or up in a pony tail consisting of a braid on the right side starting from her hairline. Blue eyes sparkle, creating each and every detail of the clothing she designs, the clothes she wears, and the way she lives her life. Most people, like her friends and parents believe that her eyes can see right into your heart and soul to see what kind of person you are.
Lightning has slightly full but slightly thin lips. She slightly paints them every day with a shine of a clear color. Her nose is slightly big and slightly small. Of course, everyday, like she always does, she makes it a small ritual to get a small amount of paint on her nose while she works at the seamstress factory. Everybody believes she looks silly, but got used to it after awhile and never questioned it. An average clothing wear for Lightning is something fashionable. People in District 9 weren't broke beggars, but not exactly fancy pants either. They were pretty much moderate, bordering in the middle. But her average wear for an average girl? Probably something like an inspirational quote on her bright shirt or a vest with a black and white cami under it. This is most likely matched with a pair of pants or shorts and her rainbow Converse. Oh yea, I said it. Rainbow Converse. :3
From what I've tasted of desire, I hold with those who favor fire...
Lightning Likes:
Shopping!
Cute Clothes.
Being a Seamstress.
Styling other people's hair.
The Hunger Games, but only so she could run away from District 9.
Lightning Dislikes:
Brown Hair. Just... NO.
Not having her own money.
School, even though she does good.
Dressed. Tops and bottoms ONLY please! :3
Strengths:

Weaknesses:
Lack of Common Sense.
Can't stop fashion designing! (Addicted!)
Can only carry up to 20 pounds.
Romance!
Quirks: Sometimes she gets carried away when she helps dress other people (and even herself).
Fears: Getting in trouble by a Peacekeeper or having her family die.
Ambition: To be a top designer! (Everybody in District 9 dresses like crap, but just because your kinda poor doesn't mean you have to get cheap and ugly clothes! Get nice cheap clothes.) Or to end her depressing life by going to the Hunger Games.
Personality: What are three words to describe Lightning? Creative, Two-faced, and Depressed.
Each day Lightning sends herself to her seamstress factory to work on new clothing designs for the Capitol, and sometimes other Districts. She usually locks herself away in the drafting area of the factory listening to the hums of sewing machine and young women while her paintbrush navigates the blank canvas or the outfit she thought out yesterday. Sometimes, on break, others come to admire her goofy face while she paints, the tip of her tongue stuck out and her eyes bulging, evidence she loves what she does, and she concentrates and puts her heart in what she does.
Despite having an open mind and creative soul, she is Two-Faced with opinions. One day, for example, it will be "Oh I love that design." The next day, though? "Im not sure about that design." She is also pretty hypocritical. Lightning will be sitting there, just minding her own business when her friend is over. If her friend asks to play a game, she will say no. But if Lightning asks to play a game then it is all good. Lightning has no clue as to why she does this, but is trying to stop.
Lightning is also slightly depressed. She wishes to be in the Hunger Games so she doesn't have to suffer her own fatality form her own hands. At night she cries for absolutely no reason. She keeps a journal of how she feels everyday. Somehow, she believes that she can still possibly live, but she wants her journal to go around to encourage other people to love themselves. No mistakes, no regrets, no second thoughts. Just life.
But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate, To say that for destruction ice...

Significant Others: None. Like I said, she's weak with romance.
Pets: A miniature dachshund named HopScotch.
Overall Historical Background: Lightning Vox first picked up a paintbrush when she was 7 years old. It was bring your kid to work day, and of course, she went with her loving mother. While mother was in one area working on a sewing machine, little Lightning was in another, painting a picture of a lady next to her. When the woman finally caught on and found she was painting her, she was pretty mad. But after seeing such a realistic feel that tied you to the picture, she sent her recommendations to the boss of the factory, and she has worked there ever since.
When Lightning was 12, she was highly upset about a rumor that was spread around the school about her. Having nowhere else to turn she took up a pencil and began to write. But to her, writing wasn't good enough. One night she took up a knife, and well, you can guess that her arms hurt for another couple years. She became addicted to cutting. It was almost a nightly thing. Except for the days she was really, really happy, she never cut.
Over time she decreased her sense of happiness from cutting and turned herself back to art, but she was still depressed. Depressed of what? She didn't know, and doctors never could figure it out either. One day she dreams of going to the Hunger Games so she wont have to suffer. But Lightning feels that if a girl younger than her is to be put in the Hunger Games, it will be her fault, which is another reason she wants to sacrifice herself for her and that young frightened girl that we don't know of.
