I live on the frozen surface of a fireball

The identifying factor when it comes to Motel is his hair. A dark, saggy, and kept to long than preferred by most. He rarely comes it, letting his hair stick out all over the place, waving every which way. Motel has dark eyes to match, surrounded by skin a shade darker than tan. His eyebrows are thin lines that don't really add much to his features.

Going back to his eyes, they're usually surrounded in dark circles, sagging under the weight of lost sleep. It's good, then, that his hair falls into his eyes, that way you don't see the horrid purple that rings them as much. His face is long and bony, framed by the wisps of black hair. His nose is straight all the way down, coming to a sharp point. Thin lips complete the assemble of his facial features.

Motel is equipped with lean muscle- really lean. However, this light weight build gives me an edge in the running department, which is always good when you get into trouble. They can't arrest you if they can't catch you. Although, he isn't as light as he could be standing at a full six feet and two inches, although he hunches for a good majority of the time, cutting that down a bit. However he is strong enough for work in District Ten- what more does he need?

Motel likes leather, though he only has one item made of the stuff. His jacket, which he wears ALL the time. Besides the various cuts, burns and other scars from Motel's little adventures, that's pretty much what he looks like.

Forgive them, even if they are not sorry

The very first thing you need to know about Motel is that he is not the brightest bulb in the box. With his simple mind, everything seems a lot... nicer. General morals that everyone has a hard time with, like greed, Motel passes by without second thoughts. In his mind, everything is black and white, which makes sense since he's colorblind.

One of Motel's favorite past times is hurting himself. He doesn't do it deliberately, it just seems to happen a lot. Sliding while running, tripping while jumping up flights of stairs. People fall, but Motel seems to do it at an increasing rate. One thing about his clumsiness, he can move through a mob of people with ease. He can slip through a bustling hallway without once touching someone- however things like walls or stationary poles he runs right into.

Another one of the other topics that fill Motel's waking (and often sleeping) hours of the day are girls. Don't be so surprised- every boy does it, Motel is just more blunt about it. His cruel honesty isn't exactly ideal at times. For example, Motel used to think this one girl (Lexi? Maria? They all run together) was hot. Like perfect for mating pretty, so he went up to and told her. He ended up getting slapped for his troubles and sort of black marked by most of the girls in school. However, just because they don't like him doesn't mean they can't keep him from thinking about them.

Yes, Motel is a simple man, but he knows some manners. He always says sorry and forgives every offense against him. Sure, he could be a genius but he doesn't have much common sense to do anything in school anyway. You can't say that Motel isn't a nice man, he's helpful even if he is a little unstable.

Where cities come together, to hate each other in the name of sport

Motel Hunt was born to an eighteen year old Lynette Hunt on a strangely warm January morning. His father is unknown to him or anyone else besides Lynette who refuses to tell him. Motel is Lynette's lone child, kept warmly in her care until he turned twelve. Lynette pushed him away because she knew he could be sent to the Arena and she didn't want to be attached to something that could be so easily ripped from her grasp. Motel fairs just fine on his own, even if he couldn't no one would be able to notice. His mask of simpleness hides all the complex emotions underneath it.

Motel watches the Games every year, mostly because he wants to know what made his mother neglect him. He's so close to getting her back, Motel is ecstatic. Once he turns nineteen, he'll have his mother back and things will be even better than they are now! To Motel Hunt, every day is a blessing- something to be happy about. Every Game day, he wakes up early to catch every second of them. The reason Motel enjoys them so much is a mystery. Part of it is obviously his mother, but there has to be another part to it. Another part that no one can comprehend but Motel. The reasoning will always be hidden away behind that mask Motel wears all to well.

Because of his forgiving nature, Motel doesn't feel spite towards the Capitol, or at least not as much as the normal District citizen. Some District Ten occupants wonder what it would be like to be Motel Hunt. To be blind to the cruelness all around, to be calm and pleasant in the worst situations. As they say, ignorance is bliss.
