Agathias stands nearly 6 feet tall, taller than either of his brothers. His hair is simple: wavy, thick, dark brown hair that he leaves in a tangled mess. He has very tanned skin from working outside all his life. He has sharp jawbones and a somewhat large nose. His ears tend to stick out a little whenever he gets a fresh haircut. Most importantly: his eyes. They’re a deep brown with abnormally large pupils. When you first look at them, it would be easy to believe he was on drugs. But that only adds to the intimidating effect he has when he stares at you.

He has broad shoulders and a deep chest. He’s thin, despite the fact that his family has never been hungry or poor. But he still has muscle definition from his few years working in the woods. He has a lean build, and never hesitates to take off his shirt when girls his age happen to pass by while he’s working. Despite his appearance, he is far from the strongest of his peers. He struggles to lift heavy objects or swing large axes; so he is often given smaller duties. But what he has more of than any of the other workers is stamina. He can work a 24 hour shift taking little more than a few water breaks. This makes him a valuable asset to any team.

His style is almost non-existent. He dresses in baggy cloth pants of bright, earthy colours. His shirts are always tight to his body with the sleeves ripped off or rolled up past his elbows. He wears a semi-stylish leather vest that has been passed down from his grandfather, who played a significant role in the rebellion during the dark days. In the winter months, he dons a heavy leather jacket -designed specifically for him- which he received on his 15th birthday.

Agathias walks with an air of confidence, a born leader. He has no enemies to speak of; everyone he meets, he immediately befriends. He places family above all else, but can’t stand being held by the confines of his home, and often escapes to the wilderness beyond. He’s never been very comfortable around pretty girls, and has a hard time carrying on a normal conversation with one. He has a few very close friends that he confides in, trusting few others with little more than his name. His most trusted friend, however, is a male mallard duck he once found with a broken wing and nursed back to health. The duck (who he named Hal) has made a nearby pond his permanent home.

He never says much, but when he does speak, people tend to listen. He keeps a calm, level head in any situation he’s faced with, and can always be counted on for just about anything. His viewpoint on the government is very clear. He hates the Capitol, and while he may not publicly display it, it is well-known throughout the community. His hatred of the Capitol stems from his family’s history. His maternal grandfather in particular, who was captured and murdered near the end of the dark days.

He waves and smiles as often as possible and tries to make everyone feel welcome in his home, but cannot always maintain this image. He sometimes finds that loud incessant noises around him become too much to bear and he leave’s without warning. Episodes like this are not uncommon. His family attributes such breakdowns to stress, but in reality, no one understands what causes them. These episodes also prevent him from working in the loud lumber mill’s themselves. But that is irrelevant: he prefers his job as a tree feller.

Agathias is the eldest of three brothers born to a line of lumberjacks. His father left home when he was 14 for unspecified reasons, and he has since become the head of the family. He began working younger than most, dropping out of school to pursue a career in district 7’s primary resource: lumber. Rather than working in the mills that are often viewed as less strenuous and much more desirable, he works in the forest as a tree feller. He made good friends with local peacekeepers and other officials, who are usually not so friendly. If anything were ever to happen to him, nearly everybody he knew would stand up for him. That’s not to say he wouldn’t be accused of something.

Agathias is known for some shady dealings in the community. They are always for the benefit of others, such as smuggling medicine for desperate neighbours. And he has even been known to “borrow” from time to time. This is where his friendliness with the peacekeepers comes in. He is most commonly given small fines for minor infractions. With anything too serious, the peacekeepers generally look the other way.

He is also a descendant of a famous rebel from the dark days. His grandfather is well known by the Capitol, being a key member of the first rebellion in District 7. For this reason alone, his family’s activity is closely monitored by the Capitol. He remains friendly with the Peacekeepers by giving them small items he manages to obtain that would be otherwise unobtainable. Something such as a Peacekeepers favourite candy, or cut of meat that is extremely expensive. He attains these items through barter with local shops, or through friends that trade in the black market that Agathias himself refuses to deal with.

Agathias has become very skilled with a quarter staff, he often spar’s with his brothers on his free time, as well as with other young members of the community. He has proved to be quite a good wrestler, winning much praise in district 7 for his accomplishments, despite his lack of physical prowess. He's also the fastest sprinter his age; he is unable to maintain his speed for long, but cannot be beaten in a quick race.
