The signature blonde hair of the Bryzes' falls in straight locks past Scar's shoulders. Of course, being one that cares about her appearance to the point that she obsesses over it, there are highlights, and, at times, even a different color completely, in her hair. Usually, it covers her right eye. No, she isn't trying to look intimidating, it just refuses to stay behind her ear unless it is pulled up into a pony tail, which is common, because she is a die-hard career, and she can't beat a person's face in as easily if her hair is blocking her sight. Chocolate eyes that are so large that they tear up at the slightest provocation glare at anything that moves with hatred. The irony that she tries to be so tough all the time, and can't even go through a gust of wind without her eyes tearing up is almost sick. Wind isn't her only foe, though. Sunlight makes it hard for her to even see at times. She has to walk with her head facing the ground most of the time. Even with the protection of long eyelashes, she has trouble seeing outside. Night time, though, is a different story. She is deadly. A pixy-like nose is yet another feature that she possesses that takes away from her intimidation factor. It makes her look like a child. An innocent child. Her bottom lip is far too full to match the top one. They are healthy, and unlike her eyes, they aren't easily damaged by wind and sunlight. When she smiles, which is an event that usually happens when she has just won a fight, or done something pride worthy with a weapon, dimples appear, and make her look like a normal human being. She also flashes white teeth that, after years of dentistry, are in line with one another. An acute, square chin finishes off her face, and suits her hair style rather nicely.

Her body has been forced to stay in shape, and not always by her. She pushes herself to the extreme in order to maintain a healthy body. Cardio exercises every day after school, resistance training whenever she can, lifting weights, even eating all the right foods. There have been times when she hasn't eaten for two days because the food at home was too fattening. Although she does have a small frame, like all of the Bryze family, she makes up for it by maintaining an excellent body condition. She is also quick. Quicker than most, in fact. She knows how to use her size to her advantage, and she proves it everyday.

She has an outfit for anything. People talk about her because she always has to look her best, and if she finds out, she does what is necessary to shut them up. She believes she is like a fire, so she dresses is warm colors such as red, orange and yellow, typically. Just because she has a love of fashion doesn't mean she walks around like some capitolite, though. She keeps it timid, saving exceptionally nice clothes for important events, and wearing the more socially acceptable clothes for everyday purposes. She usually has a jacket on, though, because that is where she keeps her knives, so there are times when you can't even see what she is wearing anyway. She prefers clothes that keep her cool so that she can last longer while training, like spaghetti strap shirts and mesh shorts, in her family's training center. At school, she wears blouses with nice denim pants, or, occasionally, a skirt. Usually she prefers to keep skirts and dresses for things like the reaping, or funerals.

Scarlette is a fire, through and through. She burns all who get near her, and doesn't even care. She hates everything that she comes in contact with. No. She makes herself think she hates everything she comes in contact with. She has to over compensate in order to be considered a threat. Her friendly looks deceive people, sway their opinions of her. She has to let them know they are wrong somehow, and this is how she does it. People know who she is because of it. She doesn't care, though. She doesn't care that they know her as the pretty ice queen, which is ironic, considering that she considers herself to be like a fire. She doesn't even care that, if it weren't for her personality, she'd be a very popular girl, and for the right reasons. She doesn't care because she has no time to. Training takes up so much of her time and energy that everything else is a minimum priority. Being popular certainly wouldn't keep her alive in the arena. At least, not for long.

Her Uncle, Aunt, and now, her cousin have all won the games. She knows, without a doubt, that if she were reaped, and she hopes she is, she could win too. She looks forward to the day she gets to prove herself, and bring pride to her district. Scar's family is crazily competitive, even with each other. All three of the Bryze siblings only had children to further their pride. To make themselves even more known. Of course, her uncle, Serge, got the most pride when he had a son. As for her other uncle, Chase, and her mother, Lyra, they were stuck with girls. It made her work that much harder to prove herself, though. She makes herself appear perfect simply to appease her Mother, and it works, for a second, then she is back, looking for more. This is why Scar is such a devoted Career. She strives to prove herself.

If anybody outside the family found out about Scarlette being in ballet, her entire image would be ruined. Tough girls don't dance, right? Well, this one does, and she loves it. When she was younger, and her mother first started forcing her to compete with Clarity, her other cousin, she signed her up for ballet. Before long, she loved it. Now, of course, she tells herself she hates it, but it serves as a major stress reliever, and also gives her time to think. She isn't the type of person to have friends. She can't be nice long enough to make them. They can say what they want, but the Bryze cousins became close throughout the years, even though they were made to rival each other. Growing up with a person almost guarantees a close relationship, though, so one wouldn't be surprised that the three of them spend most of their time, training and in school, together. She spends more of her time with Clarity than with Julian, in school, though, because they are the same age, but she makes up for lost time with Julian at the training center her aunt and uncle own.

Being born into the Bryze family is considered by a lot of people to be a great honor, and it was. For Julian, that is. He was what all of the Bryze siblings wanted, a son. One that would follow in his parents' footsteps and achieve greatness. Sadly, Lyra and Malcolm didn't get that honor. Then again, Malcolm wasn't around long enough to even meet Scar, but surely he would've felt the same way her mother had, if he were still alive. Lyra hates her sister-in-law, who was reaped the same year Malcolm was. Why does she hate her? Because she survived, and Malcolm died. Nobody knew that Lyra and Malcolm were even dating, though, so nobody took pity on her, or blamed Pashmina for winning. Still, Lyra has held a grudge against her ever since they declared her a victor. She'd already been forced to watch her boyfriend be attacked by four of the biggest fish she'd ever seen, while his remaining alliance members, Pashmina included, watched from the shore. Seeing the crown go on top of her head sickened her. She had become pregnant only a day or two before Malcolm had been reaped, so she still wasn't even aware of her pregnancy after Pashmina returned. She thought that the sickness she felt was from her missing Malcolm.

Lyra swore she'd get her back, somehow. Then, after she found out she was pregnant, she decided that she had it. Somehow, she was going to make sure that her nephew, Julian, and her daughter, Scarlette, ended up in the arena together. Only this time, her daughter was going to be the victor. She was going to walk away with a smile. However, the more she thought about it, the more she worried. Julian was older than Scarlette, and he was a boy. Scar had slim chances of beating him. Her problems were solved when Chase, her other brother, had a child, and this one was around the same age as Scar, and also the same gender. Perfect. She forced Scarlette to enter any and every competition that Clarity was in, enter every class, just to be certain that they would compete. As long as Scarlette could beat somebody in the family, she was okay with it. Her plan backfired, though. The two children grew close. Actually, Scar grew close to both Clarity, and Julian.

Scar was raised to fight. She was raised to be a winner, and nothing else. There was no room for imperfection in her life. It always had to be spot on, even when she was just a child. She wasn't rewarded if she did a good job, but was punished if she did a bad one. She became a hard person. She forced herself to be mean, ruthless, strong. She tried to make herself perfect. Perfection is non-existent, though, so she was fighting a losing battle. Still the war raged on, and continues to today. she makes herself look beautiful, makes herself stay in shape, be an exceptional fighter, only to make her mother happy. All she wanted was a pat on the back, an "I'm so proud of you" but she never got it. All she got was the complaint that she could've done better. She is emotionally damaged because of it. She trusts nobody, befriends nobody. She has only herself. Well, and, of course, Julian and Clarity. Lately, though, ever since Julian has won the games, Lyra is pushing harder than ever. Demanding that she do better at everything. It is so bad, that it is on the verge of driving the poor girl insane. She is so tired, restless. There is nothing left, and she is still giving.
