The thing with mutts is that it adds an advantage to a tribute. Which, in the end, that leaves the decision of the winner up to whoever controls the mutt.

Ex.
Luyu and Ember are in finals.
I'm controlling Mutts. I hate Luyu, I'm gonna attack her. Ember has a good shot at winning cause it's 2v1.

And at the pumpkin patch, if they bash the pumpkins, then there's a chance at 2v1. So...pillars all the way.
