Before the big day. (Celina, TardisGirl, Closed)

I smile when I see Ruby enter the room. She must have finished with her Mentor.
She runs over and asks, "Hey Iris, wanna give it a shot?".
"Sure." I say, grinning.
"You two want to fight eachother, both of you against me, or every man for himself?" Asks the station trainer.

I nodd at Ruby's suggestion. He's a big, burly guy, who I've seen take down almost every single one of the Tributes. And there's nothing that sounds funner at the moment then us two taking him down.
He laughs at the imposibity od us beating him, but Ruby comments it's a shot. He shows us a few tricks, and then we begin.

I toss Ruby a wink. Neither of them know it, but I've spent a lot of time wrestleing the manners into de-clawed and de-teathed Bears, Tigers, and the like. I was born for hand-to-hand.

The teacher lunges at me, obviously judging me to be the bigger threat, which I know, is not true.

I jump to meet him, dodge his fist, and elbow him in the gut so hard that he actually takes a step back in surprise.

"Now Ruby!" I think. "Show him what a bad idea it was for him to turn his back on you!"

She does, and before he knows what hit him Ruby hits him, I come in and help, and he's pinned to the ground.

Ruby high-fives me and I grin.

"Wha...how did...how did you guys do that?" He asks, and then ruefully adds, "You guys are pretty good."

I smile at Ruby as the trainer attmepts to catch his breath.

"Well, looks like you were wrong." I grin down at the trainer who finally has caught his breath.

"Yea, maybe." He admits, smiling. "But I wasn't trying hard. I thought you'd go down easy, so I wasn't on top of my game. Lets go again."

I wink at Ruby. "Well, if you're sure you can take the punishment." I tease.
