The beginning of the end. [OPEN]

She had made it to the capitol. The ride up was a tad less eventful than she thought it would have been. Clarisse had barely talked to her district partner except for at meals and when their mentor needed them together. Neither of them sought each other out as someone to talk to. Maybe they knew that each other had to be considered as an enemy. Not that it mattered anymore. Everyone was an enemy. There were only three people in the world that she didn't consider an enemy. And none of them had traveled to the capitol with her. And she would never see them again. Not that she cared. Clarisse hadn't spoken with them in a long time anyways.

Her room in the capitol was far more lavish than she could ever have imagined. In all the previous games, when the tributes made it to the capitol, you never got to see what the capitol was actually like unless it was the interviews or the other ceremonies. It didn't disappoint her. The first hour of her time in the capitol was spent soaking in the huge bathroom in the room. A treatment she had never had in her life, and one she wasn't willing to pass up. But that was yesterday, and this was today.

Clarisse waited for the doors of the elevator to open before trudged into the training arena. It was a lot more spacious than she would have imagined. But she shouldn't be that suprised anymore, should she? It was the capitol of Panem afterall. Most of the tributes were already there and trying out various stations. Unsure where to head first, Clarisse just stodd there observing her current competition. This would be the people she was competeing against. All the people she may have to kill, or in turn, be killed by. Whichever happened, she was likely to run into everyone of them sooner or later. They now all shared the same fate.

Death. It didn't seem like such a terrible word. She had in fact died a long time ago. All that remained was the shell of a girl that once was. All of Clarisse's friends had given their lives in the games. She supposed it was her turn now. It wouldn't be bad to die. It might actually be better. She had just never had the power to take her life by her own hand. The games would be games indeed. This was how Clarisse planned to go into to it. These games meant nothing. This would be fun. The last fun she would have before she died. Clarisse was going to make the best of it.

Her feet brought her to the herb station. It seemed so long ago that she used to sneak out of district six and sketch her favourite plants that would lie around the district. She almost smiled at the memory, but caught herself before she could. The instructor at the station started to quiz her knowledge. She finished quickly, knowing about half of the plants that lay on the table. The other half she would need to learn.
