Reign/Rain Of Glory [Day2;Fight] HoBa vs. Pandora

Pandora the Hellhound was upset. The Frozen Waterfall was a favorite place of hers; she enjoyed slipping and sliding on the ice (when no one else was looking, of course, especially not mum) and trying to climb the vast sheet of icicles that hung down the cliff, using her claws to dig in to get a good grip. She'd never yet managed to get to the top; it was so high up, and the overzealous hellhound sometimes lost her grip and went plummeting to the snowdrifts below. Thankfully it was a soft fall - even a fun fall! - so she would always get right back up and try again. She knew this wasn't how hellhounds were supposed to act; most of her friends were off being badass elsewhere, prowling their snowy domain with teeth bared and claws ready to slice. Pandora, however, would rather just have fun.

Today, however, was different; that much was clear the second she spotted the abnormal creatures - humans, she believed they were called - that had invaded the area. They stood on two legs, as opposed to her four, and had only fur on the top of their heads, although they were bundled up in interesting sorts of materials all around their bodies. The muttation bared her teeth immediately; they were interrupting her game! She knew what she must do, but she didn't like it. Mum had always told her to protect herself, defend her land, attack any foreign creature that invaded. But was she strong enough to do that? Pandora had no idea, but by no means would she let mum down. She had to fight. So the powerful canine leaped down from a snowdrift and charged at the pair of humans, teeth bared, determined to prove once and for all that she wasn't useless.

What was all this silence? It was just so peaceful, so serene. Shayde turned on his heels. He and Damaris hadn't talked for awhile now. Shayde wondered again and again if she was secretly plotting to kill him, but it seemed that she never attempted anything. And when they did talk it wasn't as if she snapped at him or ignored him. For now, she was his ally. And he wasn't going to be the one instigating the fight. If one of them was to die at the others hand, Shayde would be the one dying. But still, he wished silently to himself that that wouldn't happen too soon. The Arena without someone on your side seemed so ... Empty.

Suddenly, the silence he had been admiring broke into chaos. Shayde felt sudden pain in his cheek and gave a holler of pain as he held his sliced cheek. He looked down at his hand, now covered in blood. His blood. But instead of catching any glimpse of death, he felt rage stirring within him. Was this the real him? The enraged asshole? No ... But he couldn't control his feelings, couldn't suppress them. And instead of being scared of himself, he embraced it. Rage was the only way he could win ... His kindness would never save him in this Game.

Shayde looked around himself, finding his hammer. He picked it up with his bloodied hand and advanced toward the mutt. He let his hammer swing through the air, aiming for any part of the beast.

Shayde huffed out his anger at such a terrible hit. He had only managed to hit the creature in the leg. It had been barely enough to bruise!! He needed to focus. Settle down a little and just, focus.

The pain in Pandora's head was blinding as the human with the long fur sliced her weapon right across it, opening up a sizable gash. The hellhound whimpered in fear as she smelled the blood; she'd never been hurt anything like that before. It was an awful feeling. The human she'd originally been attacking whacked her with some kind of club, but she hardly noticed it, too distracted by the pain its companion had inflicted. Fueled by anger, she turned her attention to this one and attacked to the best of her injured ability.

Shayde watched as the mutt turned itself, ready for another fight and another taste of blood. He knew he must prepare himself; This next attack would be crucial. Even from the two little cuts on his arm and cheek, he felt life draining from him. His blood was dripping down his face and its tang was managing to reach the corner of his lips and slip into his mouth. He spat out, trying to rid his mouth of the taste, but it still remained. Disgusting.

But as Shayde readied himself for the next attack, the hound took instead a lash at Damaris. She stepped back in pain, her breathing pattern shown by the puffs in the cold air. Blood was already beginning to spread. And fast. It was a deep cut to her thigh. She retaliated with a swipe of her knife but missed, pain probably preventing her from a well aimed attack. "Damaris?" It was all he could manage as he came to the aid of his ally.

But the mutt was already poised and ready to attack once more. But Shayde wasn't ready, not yet. It was one thing when this mutt attacked him, but to attack his ally, his only friend left in the Arena, he couldn't help himself from wanting to unleash on the beast. He wasn't going to have a Sperring repeat. No, it was time to fight on, to continue to push himself. It wasn't just his life he was fighting for. His ally's life was in danger too. So he prepared himself to sing a little harder and aim a little better as he charged th beast.

He just wasn't sure his will power would be enough ...

Again, it was only a small cut on his enemy. He was beginning to lose hope. His rage was no longer rising, his will to beat this monster was growing weaker and weaker with every poor attack. Was there any way to survive?

That decent side of me shed tears with the second blow I had received. A bite to my right bicep. The switchblade, once tight in my hand, loosen with due to the pain. This animal will probably kill me. This animal will die at my hands. But, being the right handed person I am, the blow would surely take its tow on me. Soon, I may be dead. Such a shame it was to live to the second day. To have my hopes of ever winning the Hunger Games taken from my hands because a bloody monster decided I wasn’t worth a life. To have my hopes taken even though they weren’t even that strong. To have my parents be disappointed in my failure. To have District 10 angered that I hadn’t made it further.

I cried. But then I remember something important. I am a Honey Badger. I can take may lashes from a Machete and not die. Poisonous cobras can’t kill me. Other animals fear me. I am the most fearless animal in the animal kingdom. Well, that was before my country was destroyed, killing off my entire species. But, that wasn;t the point. I am a Honey Badger. The Honey Badger don’t care. The Honey Badger doesn’t give a shit. It just takes what it wants. And it wants to take the life of this dreadful animal. And the Honey Badger will do so. Even though it was still quite painful, I swung my blade at the animal, hoping for a deadly blow.

More blood. As her teeth connected with one of the humans yet again, the red liquid stained the numerous pelts she was wearing, and it was clear to Pandora that she was in deep pain. She escaped their next two attacks entirely, getting not even a scratch on her, and her success was causing her to forget even the excruciating pain from when their attacks had made it through her defenses. She had to keep fighting. She would surely win.
