A Career is Coming... [Julian Bryze, Day 5]

Julian kicked hard into the red sand with his good leg, sending a cloud of the crimson particles flying before him. How had that girl escaped him!? If it weren’t for the ridiculously thick vines of the orchard, he could have gotten her. Tears welled up in his eyes. There had been no cannon fire yet still that day and the sun was beginning to set. He was still no closer to going home than he was at dawn. Julian wasn’t sure how much more of this solitude he could take before he lost it. Every thought he had pushed away for so long was already bursting to escape the confines he placed them in. He knew it wouldn’t be long before he cracked under this environment… unless he was cracking already.

Biting his lip, he brought the palms of his hands up to rub the wet stains the tears had left on his cheeks. He willed hard that no camera be on him right now as the powerful career tribute began to crumble. Like it or not though, the cameras were there, and with only eight tributes left, focus would be on him sooner or later. He stood tall again and grabbed his glaive from the makeshift holster he had created from the strap of his satchel. The sun hadn’t set yet, and seven tributes were still in his way of returning to sanity. It was hunting time.
