This post contains questions most frequently asked by new members. Please check the following if you need something answered. If your question is not listed here, feel free to make a new topic and a staff member will reply promptly.

THE BASICS

How do I change my text color?

Hex codes are 6-digit codes that use numbers 0-9 and letters A-F to correspond to a color. For more information/a list of some hex codes and colors, visit the Hex Hub.

How do I get money and what's it for?

You get money by posting in any board. Each post is worth $5. You may use your money to buy tesserae before each Hunger Games ($150 per tessera) to fund your tribute's Hunger Games journey or to sponsor other tributes in the Hunger Games.

Someone sent me a private message (PM)! How do I check my inbox?

Go to the Useful Links menu on the left sidebar and select "Your Inbox." Your Inbox can also be accessed from "Messages" right below the top banner at the top of the site.

Can I become a staff member?

Staff members are selected when the admins post a Staff Search. Those who want to apply reply to the thread with an application and the current staff chooses new staff members from there.

CHARACTERS

How long does it take to get a character accepted?

Less than 48 hours. Staff members usually have character checking sprees. If they happen to miss your character twenty-four hours after you posted your application, you may bump up your application by simply replying to your own thread with "bump."

Can we make more than one character?

Yes! You may make as many characters as you can manage (i.e. roleplay with actively).

Can I make a victor?

No. Having a character be a victor is an honor that members must earn through winning the Hunger Games.

Do my characters age?

Your characters can age if you want them to age. We will not regulate age on this website. Your characters can age by Hunger Games or by actual real-life year or not at all. Most people don't age their characters just so their beloved ones stay Reaping-aged.

THE GAMES

How does the Reaping work?

Tributes are chosen for the Hunger Games via random generator. Before the Reaping on this site, the librarians hold a mass checking spree of character activity and Face Claims. When you enter the Activity Check (done via our Character Warehouse), you can select for your character to be entered into the Reaping. You are also able to buy tesserae at this time for $150 (per chance).

How does buying tesserae work?

If you want your character to have a higher chance of being drawn for the Hunger Games, you may sign them up for Tessera. Each character can have a maximum of THREE Tessera. Each Tessera costs $150. You are allowed to sign more than one character up for tessera.

How do I use this site's damage system?

1. Refer to this Reference Sheet. This shows dice codes for weapons you can use (provided your character has the weapon). Upon posting with this code, your post will automatically display a box with a number inside.

2. Ctrl+F for the number on the Reference Sheet or type the number into the damage calculator on the sidebox. This will show the amount of damage inflicted on another character. Damage points add up and 40 cumulative is usually death. Some attacks will yield instant death (known as an "insta" on this website).
