No really, she would. If it were not for those stupid things called rules, and the heavy equipment she'd gotten used to lunging around the arena in - she'd win in seconds. Because Jayde wasn't a looser - oh no. She was a winner. A winner who had won her last round - not by a large margin - but hey, a win was a win, regardless. And she wasn't about to step down from the spotlight any time soon.

Apex’s last round went swimmingly. He completely dominated his last opponent; a beautiful series of parries and blocks gave him a clear-cut victory against Oslo Birbeck, and now he was up against one of the many Moreno’s from his district. Jayde won by a pretty slim margin, and Apex wasn’t sure if he should attribute that to her lack of killer instinct or the closeness in talent between the two duelist. Either way, Apex wasn’t taking this match lightly, he parried the first blow, and immediately went in for one of his own.[/color]

Another block, Apex knew he was in the zone. He got off to a good start in the last round, and he hoped the momentum would swing through on his next barrage of attacks. After blocking, he quickly went after her yet again.

Finally - she was getting her rhythm back. Loosing by only a marginal one point difference, there was plenty of time for her to get ahead again. Round 1 was tricky, and this was certainly going to be harder; but Jayde could do it. She could win. She had to win.

Apex needed to be far more careful on his next attack. His lunging forward was leaving to many openings, and the double touches were throwing him off for the next attacks. It was time for patience.
