Solar Midnight // [ Sullivan ]

Walking slowly down the halls, it was very arduous. A billion eyes drifting as I pass by them, looking erratic at me. Whispering things like, What is he wearing?; He is so weird.; He is such a loner. It made the hall way look like a never ending tunnel. Every move I make they see a small blunder they would judge me by that. But some of it is partly my fault since I don't talk to much, but I know they'd find me more bizarre since we would have nothing in common. All they knew about me is that I am my parents's little doll. They know that my parents are high ranking officials, and that they always authorize me to do this or that and that they also instruct me about what not to do. It was difficult to be my parents's son since they would also expect high things from you. So does the people who follow them. That's why I always try and do good in all of my classes, keeping a clean reputation by following every rule District thirteen has.

It is very dispiriting since some of the kids my age don't even follow the schedule they are given. I always wonder how that would feel like, would it make you feel free or would it make you feel scared. But even if it would terrify you think about the adrenaline that rushes through your veins; How hyper you would look like; How a smug grin would spread across your face when you see those low lives in class, while you are having fun. I wanted to encounter all those emotions, even for just a day. But sadly that would never happen in my bitter life. I would forever be a puppet of my parents. But there is one thing they couldn't stop and that is my singing and dancing. Those are the only things that would remind me that I was my own person.

Finally I saw the door way towards my class. Finally the end to the huge tunnel. It was algebra time, the only class I have a hard time on. Sometimes it's hard to understand all the letters you should solve to get the number it represents. So it would only be the class where I would listen attentively to the teacher. Strutting calmly in some eyes glance my way but quickly turned away as if I was nothing but trash, which was the way I liked it. I made my way to my seat as my teacher entered. He was carrying a bunch of papers and some odd shaped ruler. Stumbling towards the chair he started to talk about our assignment, so did the jock behind me we were arguing weather his answer was right or wrong. But then I heard a mumble from my right, it was Hellemine. "Feels like this class should've ended ages ago,". No if it did end I would already flunk this subject and my parents would lock me up in a cell for failing this really easy subject, or at least that's what they always say. They really don't know what life is like to be their son, people would always look up or down at you depending on your actions.

I was still debating with the guy when she said "Got any plans for after school?". Quickly I told the guy "Sure okay it's right if you say so", turning towards her direction I saw that she was not looking straight at me. Was she talking to me or what, she's not even looking at me, carefully I lean to her in case any snoops would be listening. "Umm... were you talking to me?" I asked her shyly unsure if she meant me or the guy in front of her. But why would she ask me I was the official's son, I would not only be endangering her to my parents wrath but I would also be staining my clean reputation. Some say she was being possessed by some bad entity, which they say is bad luck for people who go near her. "Mr.Yale, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?
