Does, Says, Thinks

He had set up everything but his guitar, it sat in its case, the fabric showing obvious wear. A small smile lit up his eyes as he unzipped the case and opened it to reveal his one joy in his life; his guitar. Carefully, with much tenderness, he picked up his guitar. Then he went over to the stool and sat himself on it, putting on his signature sunglasses. He didn't need them inside, but he didn't want anyone to see the emotions that rocked him as he played. No, no one could ever see that, it was too dangerous.

He settled himself, adjusting his guitar in his lap. He didn't like to use amps in small places like this, so he just settled for nothing, that way people wouldn't be blasted by the sound. Selecting a pick from the small collection he had in pouches on the back of his guitar -- there were more in his guitar case but these were his favourite -- he quietly checked his tuning. He never let his guitar get out of tune, but he always checked. Then came the choice of song. Something soft, there would be no hard rock like he normally played. Then the song he wanted came to his mind and he started to play.

"Tell you a story
And it starts with time
Most on how you lived,
And learned how to die"

His guitar emitted a gentle melody, nothing harsh. For his standard it was a very light song, but anyone listening might recognize the significance of the words it held.

"Never fakes in this world
That brings death to life
So don't believe
In everything you see"

ASHLING "ASH" CASTILLON.

The bell rings as I enter the café. A sound erupts when I open the door, a soft, gentle one. I can hear a boy's voice floating around, paired up with a guitar. With my eyes traveling from the boy to the counter, I walk towards the line to pick up my coffee. When it's my turn to order, I get the usual. I hand them exact change and go find a seat. Each table has at least one person stationed at it, so there's no way to avoid conversation. I pick a seat next to some boy, but then I recognize him instantly. It's Hopper, Klaus's brother. Klaus Goravich. I don't know what to say, because I'm sure Hopper is sick of being known as the 'Victor's Brother,' just like I'm tired of being called the 'Girl with the Dead Mom.' Just silly titles that mean nothing. I take a sip of my coffee and turn my head to Hopper. "He's pretty good, ain't he?" I ask Hopper, in regards of the musician performing at the front of the room.

Your hand is closed tightly around the warm mug, still full with hot chocolate – untouched. You don’t really remember how long you have been sitting there; time just flies when you get lost among your thoughts. Most of them weren’t pleasant: left behind, lonely, stuck, not getting anywhere.

Maybe that’s why you started binge eating, maybe that’s why you sought out those drugs. Won’t change anything, though.

Your attention turns to the boy that takes up a guitar. Most of those that play in this café tend to be good, so you have a pretty high expectation for him; and as he begins to play, the expectation is met. You listen to him for a while before a girl sits down at the same table as you. She’s tiny compared to you~~r wideness~~. Though like every other meeting you’ve had with strangers, you brace yourself for the questions regarding Klaus. She doesn’t talk at first, though, to your surprise. And when she does, it’s not quite what you had been expecting. ”He is, yeah.” You respond. ”Best one so far.”

Does, Says, Thinks

His eyes wandered as he sang, though no one could tell. His shades showed only the reflection of the room, turned dark and gray scale on their black lenses. It was like his life when his parents abandoned any love for him. A reflection of himself, dark and plain. The fingers that strummed his guitar and made shapes that translated into music did so of their own accord. It was instinctive, the movements of his hands. After playing for more hours than anyone could count, each chord was etched in his mind, each note easily drawn upon to remember and to create.

"Hope is just a ray
Of what everyone should see
Alone is the street
Where you found me"

Dark eyes, hidden eyes, found a girl who had walked in just a few moments before. The girl had joined a boy at a table, a boy that he took a moment to recognize as Klaus' brother, Hopper. Why had his eyes been caught like this? Movement, he blamed, this was the problem with looking around, you see things. Things catch your eye and you watch until you realize there is no reason to watch.

"Scared of what's behind
You always scared of what's in front
Live with what you have
And make the best of what's to come"

ASHLING "ASH" CASTILLON.

"He is, yeah," Hopper agrees. "Best one so far." I nod and take a minuscule sip of the coffee, making sure not to burn my tongue or any other part of my mouth. The boy starts a new song, one about Hope and being scared of the future, or at least that's what I think it's about. "I'm Ashling, by the way," I inform Hopper. "But everyone just calls me Ash." I take a larger sip of the coffe, seeing that I've already dipped my toes in. "Do you come here often?" I ask Hopper, and look at the singer, trying to see what's behind the shades.

– to make do with the actions you’ve done. Part of you wants to just throw your full mug of hot chocolate at him – stop singing about my life!

[/color] – but you refrain, settling back into the chair and do what you do best: keep silent and just let it bug you. Despite that, the man had a wonderful voice.

The girl introduces herself as Ash; you take in a breath to start saying your name but stop. She probably already knows what your name is because of him. You exhale slowly. ”Nice to meet you. I’m Hopper.” Whether she did know your name or not, you still wanted to introduce yourself. You give her a little shrug, shifting in your seat. ”Yeah, but not until recently. What about you?”

Does, Says, Thinks

The girl and the boy, an unknown and a well-known. Of course, he only really knew them by who they were right now. Hopper was only well-known to him as "Klaus' brother", there was nothing to be said about him other than that. It was all anyone knew of him really, anyone other than those close to him. But be saw the boy's eyes on him, watching him with an expression that Curt sympathized with. It seemed this song had as much meaning to Hopper as it did to him. He wasn't even half done, but he had the feeling that the other boy wished it was over. Why, no one else seemed to be feeling that way. Was it because he didn't like the song, or did it just hold too much meaning?

"Tell me a story
Long and true
We are what we say
We are what we do"

Either way, he couldn't stop now. It would be odd, and it would seem like he had been affected, weakened, by the song he sung. His hidden eyes were filled with the same look that Hopper had just given him. Something had definitely caught his attention with that pair, and maybe it was as though he could sense the terrible mixture of emotions, so like what was inside him, within the other boy. He was beginning to hate this song too.

"Just pieces of a puzzle
To find where we stand just confused
So you are the moon
That pulls me through the night"

But if he hated it, why did he not want to stop singing it?
