And I Watched Them Die.

I watched the games from the career center in District One. I watched the death. The blood. I don't want to see that out of the TV. I don't want to be in there. I watched Saffron smash Ewe's head. I watched that bird pick out Lucy's eye. I saw Beatrice's sword slice through Mantel's body. I saw Sophia die. A young girl of twelve. I saw Cerise. A 12 year old full of spirit. How can the capitol make children go through that, much less older teens. Wait, let me rephrase that. How can they make us watch that. In past years I threw my knife through a dummy's neck as it actually happened. I would have sliced my sword through a dummy just as Mantel swung his through Kyle. Now I'm not so sure.

Does, Says, Thinks

He walked into the Career center, a small smirk on his lips testifying that today was going to be an interesting time. Idly he lifted a training knife from one of the nearby tables and traced the handle with a finger as he walked, wondering how well he could throw today. It wasn't his strongest skill, throwing knives, he preferred to keep the weapon in his hand and dart around his opponent to give quick jabs here and there. Of course, any skill is worth practicing if it might save his life in the end. Switching the knife to his other hand, he trailed the pad of his index finger down the flat of the blade, noticing that - while it was well taken care of - there were still signs of wear laced along the steel edge.

It was over the silvered point that he spotted long fair hair and a slim figure, making him realize he wasn't alone. Still maintaining his smirk, he made his way over to the girl, tempted to try flipping the knife over in his hands like he had seen some of the more experienced careers could do but knowing he would probably cut himself. Thinking better of it, he simply tapped the flat of the blade in a constant beat that differed slightly from his step. Not bothering to announce his presence he took a seat nearby and waited to be noticed. He was a Rex after all, and Rexes were the ones to be noticed.

Jade Saffron

A new boy walked up to me with a smirk on his face. What does he want? I think to myself. Currently I am throwing knifes and watching the highlights from this Hunger Games. Right now Ceaser Flickerman is laughing about how a bird picked out Lucy's eye. He's horrific. Anyway I twirl around and throw the knife into the neck of the dummy. I pick up another knife and twirl it in my hand as I throw it into the target on the stomach. He looks mildly impressed. He is still wearing the same smirk though. It is quite annoying. I feel like throwing my knife at him instead of the dummy. I ignore him instead. I throw 5 knifes super fast onto the targets' bulls-eye. He's also tapping his knife. What is that about?

He watched, bored, as she first glanced his way and then began to throw knives. It was not impressive in the slightest, a knife to the stomach was hardly a death blow. Even as she planted knives in the center of her target Russet couldn't help but turn his head in search of something more interesting. Had one of his brothers been in here there might be something entertaining to watch. Tigerius could have severed a head with a flick of his wrist, or even just knocked the head of the dummy off with a well-aimed punch - that was much more amusing than watching a girl hit a circular target with knives. The thing wasn't even moving. His finger continued to tap his blade, and he wondered whether it was time to throw it at her target yet or not. No, why bother. If he was going to throw a knife it wouldn't be one ill-designed for the practice. This was an in-hand knife. The smirk on his lips twitched as he wondered what her reaction might have been if he had thrown it. He would have to find that out eventually.

Jade Saffron

He starts to walk away seemingly bored. "Thank God" I think. A rerun of the bird pecking Lucy's eye out scene is running on the huge screen in the career center. I take another knife of the rack and hurl it into the dummy's neck. The neck brakes off. The boy turns around and starts walking back quite over to where he was before. What does he want? I think to myself again. I ask him, "What do you want?" In that kind of manner I use soft and sweet with the hint of generousness which makes people think I will tear their heads of if they don't answer. It is kind of like my version of hypnosis. He is still smirking but seems a tad bit surprised I talked and that my voice sounds smooth. I get that a lot. Still smirking he begins to talk in an annoying way which makes me want to throw one of my knifes into him.
