My fist cleched a plastic, ebony butter knife from the training center as I waited in the elevator, twisting it in my fingers It slipped into my pants pocket with ease as I bounced on the balls of my feet, swallowing nervously. ~~Mary Ellen~~ Rainbow called us all here, for a spontaneous meeting. Probably talking about the games, and our strategy.

My stomach twists and my hand seems to want to cling to the knife. 'Oh calm down. his voice echoes in my skull, causing my teeth to grit. 'Shut up.' I want to snap, but I can't bring myself to do it.

I exhale gently, and allow my fingers to rise to the completely shut door, knocking. I cringe, the noise enormously loud in the near silent hallway. "Hey, twelve, are you there?" I question, pushing myself against the door, stooping down to stare through the peep-hole.

I see light. No movement, only light. "C'mon, it's just me."

Time flies when one is having fun, at least, that's what I have been told. The time of being in the Capitol is slowly coming to an end meaning my life may as well be coming to an end as well. Only a few hours before we're being sent into the dreaded arena to fight against everyone else for the Capitol to cheer for our deaths. An honorable death with nothing more than cowards cheering for us. They wouldn't last one second if they were in the arena being forced against one another. The fear resting upon the tiny shoulders as I drag the weight of the world along through the training center for all to see. Fear isn't anything compared to the horrible feeling of pending doom. It's nothing when my mind slips into the nightmares of my body laying lifeless on the ground with people fighting around me running away allowing me to die alone- dying alone is my worse fear.

It's bound for a goal of common types when survival is important. One will be victorious, and twenty-three will be dead in a matter of moments forgotten by the rest of the world as families across Panem mourn the loss of a child, brother, sister, cousin. People excepting the families to move on like nothing has ever happen will be near impossible for many, yet my family would love for my face to be glowing high in the sky during the anthem being played to signal the end of a day in the arena. It'll be my soul rotting under the weight of the world before anyone even knows my name. It's not me people care about anymore. I will be the lone tribute fighting for nothing as no reason in the world passes for my feet to step foot into district four again, except maybe Sam. Will he forgive me for being so stupid to volunteer for a game where people call for my blood?

It's strange as my feet guide me through the training center without a destination in site- it's the beginning of my death. It would be easy to step in front of the people deemed fit for an alliance despite two of them not being careers. Mary Ellen knows her shit- how else would she have got a nine in training? The familiar beep of the elevator door opening forcing my feet out onto the twelfth floor where her room is. Perhaps nobody else will see me since it's dinner time. I didn't feel like eating even though it would do some good to stuff my face before going into the arena since food will be scarce. My eyes widen at the boy from seven stands before the door knocking aloud. My hands clench into fists before pounding as loud as I can upon the door trying to ignore the guy standing next to me despite him being an ally. "Mary Ellen open the damn door. I want to speak with you as it's obvious others do as well."

I had called for a meeting with all my alliance members, that meant I had called Mizar, Henry, and Ares to my room. We were going to discuss all the things that would be necessary for our survival in the Bloodbath. I had pieced together all of my allies, but we were still uncoordinated, something we would hopefully be able to work out tonight. With that being said, it was Ares who arrived at my room first for the meeting, I had opened the door and looked out in the hall, a surprised look on my face as I tried to figure out if this was a joke. He didn't need to be here so early, I hadn't called the meeting so soon.

From there things seem to be a blur, I had pulled him into my apartment and flitted about trying to figure out what to do, and suddenly I found myself in bed with him. We had been talking strategy, him following me into my room while we talked, and for some reason he had sat down on my bed. I had sat down on his leg and pushed him back onto it, laying out on him to get comfortable, and we talked more. It didn't take me long to get out of my clothes, leaving me in nothing but a t-shirt and my underwear, and pull off his shirt. It was surprisingly comfortable, his well toned muscles seeming to be shaped perfect to the curves of my own frame as I laid out on him.

"Ares, for the life of me I can't remember what we had been talking about before. I think it had something to do with strategy for the Bloodbath, but my train of thought is all but gone now." I tip my head up and draw small circles on his chest, my much smaller frame curled on his torso; a small smile playing across my face. "I feel like I'm missing something though, I feel like I'm forgetting something." I smile and rub my cheek against his chest, my thigh lightly brushing against his toned stomach as I shift my weight.

I found out the girl from twelve's name. Turns out she goes by Mary Ellen Goulding, but the name is so long. Most importantly though, she called a meeting of sorts. Other people since it's a meeting that I was requested to. The only question that arises has to be the others Mary asked. Showing up early would have to do. Whether I want to be there or not is irrelevant. I will be the first one to show up. My hands pound on the door to Mary's room. The door flies open and out pops Mary. She looks out to see if anyone else has showed up with me, but that brings out a chuckle from me. "Its just me Mary." My lips meet hers in a blissful union before she pulls me in. We proceed to talk about strategy for the bloodbath, but just being here in her room distracts me. I still don't know if her quest to quell the monster in me will ever succeed. Its much easier trying when I don't have death in my sights.

Eventually I find myself sitting on her bed. Mary gets aggressive here sitting on my leg and pushing me backwards. She proceeds to lay on me. I find my shirt taken off me and that's when my eyes spot Mary. She's practically wearing nothing which makes my throat suddenly get dry. I can't help except to just stare with a dumbstruck look on my face. "Ares, for the life of me I can't remember what we had been talking about before. I think it had something to do with strategy for the Bloodbath, but my train of thought is all but gone now." That makes two of us. My train of thought never was truly here to begin with. Mary is just.... wow. This girl is truly amazing. Not one career girl got my attention, yet this girl from twelve has. The girls at home would kill me if they knew where I'm at right now.

"I feel like I'm missing something though, I feel like I'm forgetting something." This night with Mary turned out better than expected. We both have done stuff that just a few weeks ago would never have crossed our minds. Here I am the most dangerous career to ever enter from two, but I happen to be in the bed from someone supposedly so weak. Tonight we both shall see how weak the other is. "I know what you're missing Mary." I lace every with a flirtatious tone to them. The flirting surprises me, but I ignore the feeling to kill. I grab her arms and wrap them around my neck. This night we will spend the night together as one.

My gaze shifts to the woman beside me I recognized. She, too, was a career. My fingers tremble, and my gaze lifts to the ceiling. "You don't have to shout..." I murmur quietly, unsure if even she heard me.

Or worse yet, what if she strung the rest of us on? Or what if she's hurt!?

'OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE. KICK THE BITCH DOWN.'

What?

He has been talking more and more lately- before, it was just a whisper I could tune out, but Hades as he calls himself, beckons to me now. The pounding in my head grows louder and louder and I realize, I am no longer me. I'm back in that inky blackness that likes to creep up on me from time to time.

Oh well, it's probably more important he hears this anyway.

"FUCKING MARY ELLEN."

My foot collides over and over again with the increasingly wobbly door until I manage my way through, furious look crossing my countenance. The penthouse looks no different from my home on the seventh floor aside from the view.

I'd admit, I'd rather have this one of the capitol from high above.

My form takes me to a slightly ajar door, where I know Claire stays six stories or so below. It's the female room for twelve. "Bitch you better be in there!" I shout, kicking that door in too for good measure.

Fuck it felt nice just to kick a door to kick it.

And of course, the musclebag from Two is here. I know she mentioned allies to Henry, but this meathead? "Oh, excuse me." I hiss, my voice dripping with complete sarcasm. The rage boils once more below my flesh, roiling emotions masked only by my utter need to be all gentleman and false sweetness at this very moment.

"Were we interrupting something? If you wanted private time to yourselves, you shouldn't have scheduled an 'Important Meeting' right fucking afterward!" Oh gods, it felt so nice to scream- at the pair of them, at anything at all. So much pent up energy evaporating from my very flesh.

I exhale, and allow my fingers to fall to my sides; they were balled into the tightest of fists. "Fine. Would you rather Mizar and I take our leave so you can continue the ah... Fun night you obviously had planned?"

All the knocking on the door doesn't even bring a sound, and it's surprising to see that Ares hasn't showed up yet. It's against the odds that he'll show up, but we must keep our fingers crossed. He's a person I don't want to see; I hate him, and he deserves to die the cruelest death by my hands. It'll be me that splits his skull open and bathes in the blood of the fallen- a victory dance placed in my hands at his death. The little girl from four killing the brutal career from two would make headlines, and I'm sure my parents would finally recognize me as their daughter. My eyes turn to face the guy from seven. The way he acts around me is like doesn't trust me- I wouldn't trust me either. My heart races under my chest as the fire flares through my veins. If Mary Ellen knows what's best for her, she'll answer the damn door, but nothing inside even hints to her being there.

My fist pounds rapidly against the door as hard as possible making the sound amplify as much as possible. He's standing here before kicking the door over and over shouting for them to open the door, but it does no good whatsoever. Nobody opens the door and his foot flies through the door and he's inside yelling at them before my body even moves through the door, and I don't like what's being said. At the speed of lightning, my feet carry me through the door anger surging through my veins as my eyes land on Mary Ellen and Ares almost naked in bed. My hands ball into fists slamming into the wall as hard as possible as my blood boils. My hands fly across the shelves sitting near the door knocking valuables into the floor shattering them into a million pieces sending shards flying in every direction. "You no good mother fuckers. What the fuck is going on!"

My hand clenches a vase sitting on the shelf and tosses it across the room as hard as possible shattering it against the wall across the room. My feet smash the vases laying on the ground stomping them into pieces over and over again. The faint drumming of my heart echoes through my head loudly. My hands reach behind the shelves knocking them forward onto the ground. My eyes meet Ares. The stupid bastard is here laying in bed half naked with a girl who he's about to kill. The stupid son of a bitch needs to die. He should die right now by my hands. My weight is pushed from my feet sending my body flying through the air straight towards the career who will die right now by my hands where nobody can stop me. "I'm going to kill you, Ares, right here- right now. Your life will flee from you as the coward you are." My body connects with his as hard as it can knocking him off the air. Just wait until I kill you. Just wait.

Well, to say the night could last was going to be a lie, and much like my life in District 12 there just had to be something to end it. This time it was my alliance members who broke up the party, and much to my dismay both of them looked like they were ready to draw blood. Mizar was already yelling bloody murder and saying she would kill Ares, something I wasn't pleased about, and Henry...or was it Hades, was standing in the corner looking at me like I had let him down. Who the hell were they to judge anyways, they had no right to look at me or yell like that.

It didn't take long for Ares to be dragged out of the bed and start getting beat up on, the whole time with me screeching at them to stop fighting. Of course neither of them did, they were knuckleheaded Careers, the only thing they knew was fighting, and I'm pretty sure we were a dysfunctional alliance with two Careers and two lower districts. I made my way to the bureau and pulled out the knife that I had hidden under the shirts, screeching the entire time. "What the hell are you apes doing? This is my room and you're destroying it...not to mention you're acting like children. Now knock it off before I call the Peacekeepers."

I walked over to them, knife in hand, and prepared to separate the two of them, only to have Ares spot the knife and turn to me in his full rage, knocking it out of my hand. I had just about had enough of these two, they were going to be allies and they were ready to strangle each other. "Look you two morons had better stop this right now, you are allies so you'd best get used to that. Now stop acting like children and get up."

Both Henry and Mizar are here in the room after breaking their way in. Henry is obviously pissed. I really don't blame them at all if they had been waiting at the door. Neither Mary or I actually acknowledged the knocks on the door. "Were we interrupting something? If you wanted private time to yourselves, you shouldn't have scheduled an 'Important Meeting' right fucking afterward!" This guy from seven has guts. Yelling at me though will only provoke the beast within. This Henry will learn to not mess his soon to be killer. "I actually discussed tactics. Not my fault you two were slow pokes to the meeting. You're a fucking coward seven." I get up to confront him with my fists, but Mizar fucking Roxen has other plans.

"I'm going to kill you, Ares, right here--right now. Your life will flee from you as the coward you are." Mizar rushes me and tackles me hard. My head smacks the hard floor hard. I'm positive that there'll be a bruise there, but what Mizar did is unacceptable. She kill me? Like that'll be possible. Mizar is weak, unstable, and not to mention a fucking idiot. "Look at the wanna be tough girl try to hurt me." I get up and without question release a full force punch at Mizar's face. It connects with a satisfying thud. She'll pay for attacking me. I don't know if I knocked her out or not as I turn to Mary.

"Look you two morons had better stop this right now, you are allies so you'd best get used to that. Now stop acting like children and get up." I'm positive that Mary is referring to what happened between Mizar and I. She has no right to command me. The idiot invited them both here and thanks to her, I got attacked by Mizar. Its comical that Mary has a knife. My hand smacks it out of her before I bend to retrieve. "You bitch. Setting me up to be killed." I lunge at Mary striking her cheek with the knife. The blow draws blood. I address all three of my so called allies with the knife still gripped in my hand. "Don't even try to portray me as weak. Look very closely. I have burn marks. Self inflicted." My breathing is heavy with anger. I want to kill them right now. "Only one person isn't afraid to prove he's fearless. That person is me. I doubt you three could do what I did."
