Will I see another sunrise(Moss vs. Platypus bear day4)

Silence, like a cloak, envelopes my ears as I lie in the sand, just waiting to die. If anyone wanted to, they could kill me now, I'm not exactly able to defend myself. My good hand is gone and I'm so dizzy from blood loss it's not even funny. At least it will be night soon, then I will be hidden from other people. The events of the day run on replay in my head, the latch crab and the searing pain of cutting off my arm. I hope to ripred I never have to experience that again. My left hand wraps around my necklace, feeling a slight bit of comfort but in this arena, there are few comforts and the ones you get are usually short lived. It's weird not having my dominant hand anymore, I suppose I will to get used to it, unless I become a victor (which I doubt) and get a prosthetic arm.

The overcast sky feels like it's glaring at me, looking at me with disapproval and anger. I shouldn't be alive, I should be on my way home in a coffin, cold and dead. I should not still be breathing, my heart should not still be beating, blood should not still be flowing through my veins. "I'm still alive but I'm barely breathin, just prayin to a god that I don't believe in." the song escapes my lips but my voice is scratchy and feels like it hasn't been used in a while. I don't know why I have started singing but I have. Why am I letting the people of the Capitol have the pleasure of hearing my voice? (It could help get you sponsors) Iris reminds me. It's mine though. They've taken everything else I have, without songs, I don't know who I am. I protest silently.

A drop of rain lands on my face, oh please don't make it rain. I look up to the pitch black sky and feel hunger growl at my stomach. I haven't eaten in days. Suddenly, as if someone flipped a switch (which they probably did) it starts pouring rain and I am soaked within moments, the sabd around me soaked as well. Taking my rucksack, I attempt to fashion some sort of shelter from it but I am soon soaked to the skin. It's so cold, this place, I need to get somewhere warmer. Standing up, I pick up my rucksack which is getting soaked, and begin walking. Where I'm going? I am not a hundred percent sure but I need to get far away from here. My hair hangs limply in my face as I try to feel my way through the darkness. "Feelin my way through the darkness, guided by a beatin heart. I can't tell where the journey will end, but I know where to start." I warble through the darkness, trying to keep myself optimistic. Luke would have wanted that, for me to stay strong. The patter of rain reminds me of summer nights when my mother used to sing us to sleep whenever it rained. "I miss you mom." I whisper to the sky. I miss my family, they must be so proud of me, making it so far.

I finally allow myself to give in to the exhaustion that is tugging at my limbs and I collapse, falling into a haunting dream that I cannot remember only that it scared the crap out of me. When I awaken, I find that the sky has lightened but the rain has not stopped. Most likely, there is going to be a big fight today, I wonder whos faces I will see in the sky.

Packing up my things, I keep moving, stumbling from the hunger that is impossible to ignore now. I have those carcasses in my rucksack as well as the edible plants. Pulling my soaked rucksack from my back, I pull out one of the carcasses and nibble on it, knowing it will givr me strength for the day.

The boom of a cannon startles me and I wonder who it was for. I will find out tonight I guess. (Be happy it wasn't yours) Iris reminds me and I nod. That's when I see it, the mutt. This must be what I will face today. Dropping my bag, I pull out my knife and without hesitation attack the creature.
