between two lungs {Potato/Opal}

I twist the ring wrapped around my finger, it is so incredibly pretty, it is beautiful, and it shines so bright. I can’t help, but glance at it every few seconds, mind trying to wrap around the fact that It was there for only one reason. I was married. Yeah not one of those proper things like back home, but it didn’t matter, it could have just been me and him simply saying I loved you and I couldn’t have cared less. I just now get to say that he’s mine forever and I am his.

It glitters, the light shiny off of it’s exterior, but Potato shines brighter, this intense ball of excitement, joy and light that just completely engulfs me every time I look at him. I can’t stop myself from getting so incredibly happy and joyful every time I see him smile, every time he says my name and kisses me. There is nothing better in this world then being by his side, feeling his hands on my and his lips pressed against mine, there is nothing more pleasing then the way he speaks and places me on my bed.

He could say my name a thousand times and I’d never be bored of it. When he tells me I’m beautiful I believe it, because everything he says has to be truthful, everything he says has meaning and life. And I’m giddy with excitement; I’m ecstatic after what we’ve done. As he flops onto the bed and leans over to kiss me I do the same, wrapping my arms tightly around him and pulling him down closer to me.

I pull back for a moment, ”Mrs Opal Earnest, it has a nice ring to it.” I grin, and then I kiss him again.

I’m nervous and I’m quick to tell myself I shouldn’t be. Should I? I’m not sure, I’ve never had anyone touch me, I’ve never had anyone say the things he says, hold me and tell me they love me. I’ve never imagined going this far with someone before. I like the way he kisses me, the way he asks, and I say nothing, because I’m afraid to speak, I feel like my tongue is glued to the roof of my mouth, because I might say something wrong, so instead I remain silent, and I hope he understands what my silence means. He unbuttons my dress and my breath catches in my throat, and I race a hand through his hair.

His lips trace my collarbone and I can’t help but gasp it each and every one of his kisses. Every touch seems to light up my entire body, electricity running through my veins. And the knots that had held my stomach together loosen with every movement, because I want this. As the trail of kisses ends at my collarbones I entangle my fingers in his jacket, a tux we had managed to grab from the closest filled with clothes. Somehow we are sitting up once more as I pull off his jacket, and throw it out of the way, my fingers grip the shirt underneath and I’m fumbling over the buttons – because I want him – and my hands are shaking, and I don’t know how I manage it, but I tear the shirt.

I can’t help, but giggle as that perfect clean shirt is torn, I tear it some more, until it is off him. I place a hand on his chest, and for a moment I stop, my fingers drinking in that warmth, tracing the lines on his stomach and chest, and I draw them upwards and I look upwards and I look at him. I look at those eyes, I’m so lost in the amount of love, I am so incredibly lost in all of it that I’ll never find my way out and I never want to. I want to be lost in those eyes, in him forever. This world could burn around us and I’d still be loving him.

So this time when I kiss him I kiss him like the world is burning, and my hands are on his back and his neck. I want to be closer to him. My kisses trail down his neck, his collarbones and I feel like I can’t get enough of him.

I can’t help, but smile underneath every kiss, I can feel the way he reacts to my touch, I can feel what it does to him and I like it. I like it because I know this is exactly how I feel, this is the same way my body reacts when he touches me. When he wraps his hands around me, gently squeezes me, presses his forehead to m face my body feels so alive.

Every touch is like a bright spot of warmth. It spills across the surface of my skin, it digs deep into my veins and within moments it is a light in my heart, and I feel sore in my chest with the amount of love that is there. It’s also bursting with a need to be closer to him, I want to go further, to be more then this.

I pause for only a moment, my eyes flickering closed as our foreheads rest against one another. And then I reach behind myself and finish off what he has started, I draw my dress up and over my head and with a flick of my wrist it is gone. If it were even possible the beat of my heart increases, I’ve never been so vulnerable in front of another person before, not family, not anyone. But with him I don’t care. I don’t feel imperfect, and I don’t feel inadequate.

There is fire between us, a burning blaze of passion and lust, want, love and need. And I want it to scream, I want it to reach the stars and burn our names into the sky.
