WRESTLING: ROUND 1

Welcome to the Wrestling event of the second Panem Olympic Games! The wrestling mats are located within the Olympic Arena, with stands for spectators traveling from Districts One, Two, Four, and the Capitol to watch the competitors. Television cameras are set up around as well, to broadcast the event to anyone staying home as well as to the other districts who aren't as lucky and competent as you all! Please be sure you stretch and warm up with your coaches before you're called to the starting block, and remember, make your district proud!

The wrestling event is a tournament, which follows a bracket. Each match will occur on this thread. Feel free to roleplay your character grappling with their opponent and then paste the code [*roll range="1-15"] without the asterisk into your post and roll, as you would with a Hunger Games die. This number is used to determine the winner of each match.

The competitor who scores higher than their opponent moves on to the next round, which will be posted on a new thread. As the wrestlers post, the winners and scores will be recorded here; when all the first round matches have been completed, the bracket will be updated and the next round will start.

There is NO POSTING ORDER; you may post whenever you please. Keep in mind that this event must be wrapped up by the end of the Olympics Day.

I begin stretching a bit for my match. I'm facing some person named Gou Matsuoka. The man is from district four which should be interesting. That place is the talk of Panem right now with their first victor in ages. I look forward to squashing Gou into the mat. Which move should I use to end it. The arm bar appeals to me, but the jellyroll or jack is also equally tempting. The burn in my legs increases even more which alerts me to stop the stretching. Normally the burn wouldn't make me stop, but I want no excuses for when I wreck this guy.

I walk to the center of the mat designated for my match. I scan the field for a guy, but when a woman approaches, I lift an eyebrow. Apparently I was way off in assuming Gou was a girl. This makes me slightly uncomfortable. I'll be a loser of this fight either way. It won't feel like a victory if I beat her, but will be devastating if I lose. Nothing else for me to do except hope I can impress the viewers enough that they don't care who steps in front of me. "I was expecting someone else." I look toward the referee before prepping myself. I hear him shout the match is ready and lock horns with my opponent. She wishes me good luck. "The same to you."

When Tuff "Swagmachine" Blackmore strutted into the the wrestling room, he did so with full confidence that he would win. The skintight uniform he wore was bedazzeled with the number "2" on the back and the bright red, sparkly word "TUFF". Nobody questioned his divinity today. He looked every part of a heavyweight wrestling champion, and he was proud of it.

"You'll be facing with District Four's Jev Falls today, Mister Blackmore." An insignificant event coordinator announced. Tuff sneered at the man, and strode onto the mat, his fat jiggling out of his suit as he walked. They really should have provided him with an XXXL, it would have fit his heavyset frame much better than the ballerina suit they put him in. He felt like twirling as he sized up his comparatively scrawny opponent.

"Hey, hey twerp." Tuff giggled the boys new name and slapped his own thighs in order to show off the goods. "You ready to die, huh twerp? Because I'm going to kill you today. I'm going to fall right on top of you and you gonna stop breathing and it is going to be my crowning moment, ain't it, twerp?" The boy didn't say much in response. The bell for the match rang and Tuff puffed out his chest, ready to respond to anything the little guy threw at him.

At first it was easy. The boy ran straight towards him and bounced right off of his abundant blubber.

"I ain't no trampoline, twerp. You gotta try better than that." Tuff practically cackled. Truthfully he didn't enter the Olympics just because he thought he could win. He entered so he could torment the lowly scum that thought they were better than him. Seeing their horror-struck faces as he ruined every code of sportsmanship and district unity was all it took to make his day. He liked ruining people's lives.

The boy mumbled a response, "You sure look like one. Imma beat you to a pulp and throw you onto the shore where you can join the rest of the beached whales." At these words, Tuff lost it. Nobody insulted him. Nobody.

"You wanna fuck with me, boy?" He yelled, suddenly diving at the boy like he was one of his victims. "You really wanna fuck with the Tuff Blackmore? I eat boys like you for breakfast. You wanna talk about pulp? I'll cut you up with just my hands, smash you to mush, eat you, poop you out, and then feed you to the lower districts like you are some kind of gourmet. You like that, you little bitch?"

Anger burns through Tuff, and before he even realizes it he forgets all about olympic rules. Instead of trying to pin his opponent, he punches him hard in the face, and then in the stomach, knocking the wind out of the boy and causing blood to run down towards his lips. "You like the taste of your own blood, bitch? You like drinking Jev fucking Falls for breakfast, huh?"

The boy responds in kind, "Fuck you and your fat fists. Fuck you and your elegant fat. Go back home you sea cow." Some people really don't learn not to mess with angry fat men. The match forgotten, Tuff dives at the boy and attempts to rip his head right off of his shoulders. He doesn't care that the entire nation is watching. He doesn't care that this is a strict no-kill event. He still attempts it.

Too bad for Tuff though, sometimes his anger is his biggest weakness. Instead of decapitating the poor boy, his hands never reach his target. He let his guard down and the idiot used that to his advantage by grabbing his fat wrists in their scrawny fingers. Before Tuff can even respond, the boy has him on his back and is throwing his entire weight onto Tuff's flab.

"1, 2, 3 you're out!" An announcer screams, letting the world know of Tuff's failure.

Swearing incoherently, the district two loser pushes the kid away from him and brings himself to his feet.

"I hope you have fun rotting in hell. I hope you die a horrible, painful death in the games. I hope we're reaped together so I can fucking kill you first." Tuff mutters and spits at the boys feet, ignoring any last chance of sportsmanship. "Fucking idiot. What a fuck face."

Without another look, the fat ballerina monster strolls out of the room, acknowledging the cameras only long enough to wish death on Jev's friends and family. "See you next year, dickballs." Tuff shouts behind him as he raises a one finger salute to the room and slams the door.

Yeah he'll see them all next year... unless he kills them all first.

Jev walks out from the room in which he had been placed in and into the room which was filled with a variety of different people, all coated in layers of sweat, and muscle- well for the most that it. The person I stood in front of was one of the few who was wrapped in thick layer of fat, not muscle. He walks up to me, his fat jiggling all over, his tight suit doing nothing to hide it, in fact t seemed to emphasis the wobbling slabs of skin in places that Jev never wanted to see. He cringes away, his hands moving to shield his eyes from the dacing lumps of flesh, but he is cut short when the guys speaks, his double chin dancing from side to side as words escape rom between lips that looked like they belonged on a cow.

"Hey, hey twerp." He giggle and Jev watch as he bends over and slaps his thigh, rolls forming in his stomach, his fat jiggling like a stone hitting water as he slaps his fat fingers against his skin. It reminded Jev of a time when he himself used to be hugged tight in a layer of fat that made people around him laugh and point. And maybe Jev should feel sorry for this bloke, but he didn't. Jev had a cold heart now. He was almost emotionless. "You ready to die, huh twerp? Because I'm going to kill you today. I'm going to fall right on top of you and you are going to stop breathing and it is going to be my crowning moment, ain't it, twerp?"

In response Jev runs at the boy, his arms trying to close around his body, but they couldnt because of the boys extra large frame. His shoulder rams into i=his stomaach and you would think that that alone would be enough momentum to push the guy to the ground. But it doesnt. Jev is thrown backwards, his whle body bouncing off the other boys fat. Who new that fat might actually be more than its worth.

"I ain't no trampoline, twerp. You gotta try better than that." The boy basically cackels making Jevs eyes narrow ever so slightly. "You sure look like one." Jev mumbles almost to himself as he picks himself up off the floor. "Imma beat you to a pulp and throw you onto the shore where you can join the rest of the beached whales."

This was no zoo.

This was no petting ground.

This was a competition and whales did not belong here.

Then he was mad.

"You wanna fuck with me, boy? You really wanna fuck with the Tuff Blackmore? I eat boys like you for breakfast. You wanna talk about pulp? I'll cut you up with just my hands, smash you to mush, eat you, poop you out, and then feed you to the lower districts like you are some kind of gourmet. You like that, you little bitch?" He yells, his voice extending our boundres and echoing through the whole room. Jev would not have been surprised if every one stopped for a moment and look in their direction, this attracting the attention of so many people, in so many different ways.

But then a fist is flying into his face, quickly followed by one to the stomach and the breath is knocked out of him, the bitter taste of blood dripping from Jev's nose and into the corner of his mouth. "You like the taste of your own blood, bitch? You like drinking Jev fucking Falls for breakfast, huh?"

By now Jev was over it. He was over this boy and his weak taunts, he was over this boy and his abundance of fat. ''Fuck you and your fat fists. Fuck you and your elegant fat. Go back home you sea cow." He dives at Jev again but Jev was so done right now and he quickly moves out of the boys way- noting how difficult it would have been for his opponent to quickly change direction in his current state.

Jevs hands snake out and close around the boys thick wrists before throwing him to the ground Jevs body following suit and landing non to gentle on top of the boy who was pinned beneath him.

"1, 2, 3 you're out!"

Jev smiles coldly at the boy beneath him, This guy was nothing but talk.

Climbing to his feet he walks away as the boys jibes fade into the background, the cold smile still painted across his stern face.

And I can hear the buzz of the crowd, every octave of their voices radiating through my veins.

With an inhale, I take my place on the mat, adjusting myself into the stance that I've taken many a time. I keep my face stoic and hard, not the type to taunt or waste precious time with mere chit-chat, and I nod at the young man who takes his place in front of me. I show no fear towards the placement of our match, no fear towards the thought of myself going up against a member of the opposite gender. After all, if there is one thing about me that is absolutely certain:

I can down a man just as fast as I can a woman.

I roll my shoulders and pop my neck for good measure, confident enough in my abilities to break from my angle of hardness by shooting smirks at the crowd. My life is forged from many things; hate, love, blood, loss, and recovery all playing a part within it. My entire being is settled upon the thrill of the fight, the rush of flesh against flesh -- bone against bone.

"Good luck," I finally say as the referee places the whistle between his lips, blowing with the force of stormy winds.

You're going to need it.

She'd signed up for wrestling after hearing that her dear brother would be competing. She knew exactly why Kaiser was in the sports, in all honesty she didn't much like the face to face confrontation where people could grab her and touch her. She much preferred knife throwing, or having her victim tied down, or well, dead. But she was never one to let her brother beat her, never one to let her brother walk all over her and tell her that he was doing better, being better and well, just better then her. They were both very competitive, and she wasn't going to let the fact that this competition would be filled with sweating teenage girls and boys. No, she would not let that stop her from trying it, she doubted she had a lot of skill in the art of wrestling, but she wasn't completely oblivious, she did, after all, come from the most prestigious district of all. So being beaten was not in her blood, but winning at a competition like this? Well she wasn't sure that was in her blood either.

She stretched, throwing her hands up and above her head. The tape she had wrapped around her knuckles was stiff, so as she brought her hands down she flexed her fingers, feeling the blood flow through her limbs. Barefooted she stepped into the arena provided for them to use, she looked upwards in time to watch as her opponent joined her in the ring. Broody? Booby? Something stupid like that, who fucking cared, though. She didn't, that was for sure. When the referee chimed in she grinned and moved. The fight began.

Wrestling was all about strength and sweaty bodies in spandex, two of his favorite things. His match was second to last on the schedule, so while he mentally prepared himself for the exhilaration in tight clothing that tried to wedge itself up his ass (because his trainer ran out of the right damn size at the last minute), he stood idly by the sidelines and observed the first five matches. There was plenty of eye candy to admire, and a bursting pool of attractive bodies just waiting to be plucked. He tried to make a mental list by matching names to faces as they entered the arena in pairs, but he started losing track after the audience’s cheering rattled his brain. As his match grew closer and closer, he became too distracted to remember how hot Ella Dahl-Moreno looked in that wrestling outfit, or how Tyrannus Rex’s ass moved when he walked.

Which was saying something.

He practically leapt to his feet when they announced his name. Hell yeah fuckin right Kaiser Fray was up next against Genesis whoever the fuck. Sweet! He was pumped, blood roaring in his ears as he stepped up to the ring and positioned himself. His opponent was some pretty boy with hair blonder than a fucking leopard print shirt – not that he minded, of course. Kaiser was many things, but shallow was not one of them. Not really. He could pretend to have standards and lie about how much he loved brunettes compared to blondes. But honestly? He wasn’t the least bit picky.

”Sup bitch. Your head looks like a dirty Q-tip.”

He couldn’t help himself; he loved to tease the hell out of people, and talking shit before an Olympic face-off was practically tradition.

Muscles tense, he waited for the signal. Then he pounced.

It felt like forever since he had been in the Olympic village. He had had a girlfriend then, a person he thought he loved and thought loved him. He remembered wiping the blood from her split knuckles and had to take a deep breath to steady himself. Right now it was all about collecting himself and performing to the best of his abilities. As he stepped onto the mat he rolled his shoulders, getting ready to wrestle his opponent down. He couldn't overwork himself on this day, there were plenty of other events he was in, but that didn't mean he could slack off here. Every event he participated in was going to have to be the only thing he focused on until he moved onto the next. It was a sure thing that he would never lack for something to do - what between training, regaining his strength, and actually performing - and maybe that was for the best.

The last thing he needed was time to think about how things used to be, time to think about her.

As the match started, he threw himself into it with a calculated determination.

She shifted uncomfortably in the tight spandex. Her thumbs dig underneath the straps on her shoulders, letting it fall taught against her skin before stepping out into the public eye. Gou Matsuoka. The name made her want to cringe. Displayed up high for everyone to see. Were they surprised when the petite girl stepped into the spotlight? She would have smiled, had her heart not been thrashing so violently within its cage. Leo Pine. A vague memory of games past stirs within her. A district two male who shared the same last name. If he had lost a brother, Gou was genuinely sorry.

"FIGHT GOU FIGHT!!" His voice rises above the rowdy crowd, a familiar jubilant tone she recognized without a doubt. Nagisa was here. She couldn't help but smile at the boy's enthusiasm, despite his continued insistence to call her by the wrong name. As much as she'd deny, have the question risen, she hoped this meant that Rin was somewhere in the crowd as well.

"Its Kou." She muttered, more to herself than the boy in the stands. His voice was soon joined by another, Makoto. Had they all come out to support the girl? Such a thought warmed her heart, filled her with newfound courage as she walked onto the mat, eyes meeting the boy she would be fighting. To say she was nervous was an understatement, yet she met him with a smile. "I'm Kou." she beamed, locking her arms with his. "Good luck Leo."

SCOUT VS. BRODY

It would seem that old habits died hard.

Just when he thought that burning need to prove himself had gotten itself under control when he'd outgrown the Hunger Games at 18, their darling President had to go and stir shit back up for the big kids. His father Nolan had known almost immediately once the news had broken on national television that Brody intended to sign up; he'd called as the story broke to ask which events he intended to participate in.

As if that was even a question.

The Peacekeepers Corps, of course, had sent him to District 4's new Olympic Arena with praise and well-wishes in their mouths and Peacekeeper-white training gear, jokingly telling him to be a good representative (in skintight spandex? no problem.) and not to come home without a medal. Even if he didn't take home the gold, any excuse to go back to District 4 was good enough for him. Of course, the prospect of fighting a bunch of kids (for some reason they allowed 18 year olds, who still had the Hunger Games to compete for) was hilarious to him, even though he wasn't terribly old himself.

Wrestling had been a family pasttime since he was old enough to take grappling with his Dad as a challenge rather than an invitation to play; granted, his old man was vastly superior at it, having 20 more years' experience and a solid 30 pounds of muscle working to his advantage. But experience was the best teacher, and unless they pitted him against some monstrosity of a Career, Brody was entirely confident that he'd come home a champion.

What he didn't expect was for his first opponent to be a waif of a girl with a stupid name like 'Scout'. Who in the hell named their kid 'Scout'? Her gender didn't bother him in the least, there were no shortage of women in the Peacekeepers who could kick his ass any day of the week; but that goddamn name... It conjured up images of small children going door-to-door selling homemade baked goods in their cutesy little uniforms and wide eyes... and made it utterly impossible to take her seriously.

Brody raised an arm over his head when his match was announced; 'Scout Fray' (he dared to wonder what her probably-equally-stupid middle name might be) versus 'Corporal Brody O'Rourke'. There would be no mistake who he was now, who he represented or where he came from.

Writing Thoughts Says Hears Other

Wrestling was one of those things where Bastian didn't do much practice. He was big already, not as bit as some of these other competitors though, but he was big enough. He was going over pins in his head over and over. A few stretches while he prepared for his match. A smile plastered onto his face. His opponent was Keifer Degraw, some boy who was from 2. It was his time to shine for District 4. He needed to prove that District 4 is one of the strongest districts and not to mess with them. Bastian was a champion. He was an athletic guy. He practiced for this moment over the years. The moment the prove that he was strong enough to destroy this one.

Bastian walked to the matt, ready to go. He had stretched and gone over pins in his head for careful measures. He was ready to do this. He was ready to either win proving himself or lose with his dignity. He looked at the other guy and smiled. This guy is going down. There is no ifs or buts about it. I have to prove that District 4 is the best and I need to prove to myself that I could live if I was reaped. I need to prove to my family that all of their hard work and mine proved to be greater than most. Bastian stared a bit and spoke softly, "Good luck dude, may the better man win." Then the whistle rang and the match began.

The memories of the last Olympic events are still fresh in her mind. The image of medals hanging around other people's necks burning behind her eyelids every night was enough make Bianca enter for a second time. Despite her size and talent in the training gyms, a bundle of nerves were twirling around in her stomach. If she failed again... she did not have the face to be a tribute and if she did not even have the skill to bring a medal home to District Two what good is she anyway? All Bianca wants is to shake hands with the mayor and bring glory to her home, to have left something in history with mentioning. A contestant may be remembered by some but a winner is known by all.

Cracking her knuckles, the girl made her way towards the mats once her name was called over the speaker. The other name called sounded feminine but Bianca expected someone of her own build. The girl from Two was, by all means, considered a giant. Labeled "Amazon" but most frequently "freak" back home she must have been in a completely different weight category than the girl standing opposite her. Bianca did not doubt the girl's ability but looking down at her opponent, Bianca was not entirely sure if she would be confident or afraid.

As they settled into starting poses, Bianca took in a deep breath letting all her worries and nerves out on the exhale. Choosing confidence over pride, she swung herself forward.

Wrestling was his specialty in a way - anything hands-on was his category - and there wasn't any beating him when it came to something he was good at; he knew it as his neck popped under the sea of the crowd preluding the whistle's fourth screech. Under the watch of his locked knees, the boy across from him jumped and Shiloh stood as he was before reacting.

The Olympics were modeled after gods after all; Shiloh'd show 'em what that meant.

I'm not one of those weak-ass little shits that's afraid to hit a girl. I grew up with girls that would sooner kick my ass rather than look at me and was raised on the notion that both genders are equal and capable of curb stomping any asshole's head into next week. The very idea that I might not want to hit a girl because it isn't polite or gentlemanly would label me next to be beat up by one of my sisters and while I'm pretty damn good at throwing my punches I wouldn't want to step into a ring with one of them.

So when I get my partner I don't even flinch. I'm not sure if I'm expected to or not but I have no intention on going easy on anyone, the thought never crossed my mind. I step onto the mat across from the girl and I can already tell that's she's a cocky little bitch in the way she rolls her shoulders and waves at the watching crowd. I do them my own service and give them a bored middle finger aimed right up at the sky and then I place my hands on my hips, watching bored as she flexes her tiny muscles for the watching idiots.

How I hate the fucking ceremony of these things.

I arch an eyebrow as she offers me her less than half-hearted good luck and watch coolly as the whistle blows, announcing the beginning of the match. I won't be going to her anytime soon, I'll wait until she comes tearing at me, there's no point in me wasting my energy after all and she seems like the type of girl that needs to prove herself every second of the day. As if I care what the hell I look like as I'm taking her down, I'm only here because I'm a Rex and what mother wants, mother gets.

"Are you gonna get your slow ass over here Hedwig, or are you having performance issues?" I ask lazily, a smirk turning up the corners of my mouth.

Wrestling wasn't something I was very good at. I preferred using a spear and stabbing someone, but hand to hand combat is important, but this is more than any hand to hand combat I've ever practiced. Usually, spandex wasn't something I wanted anyone to see me in because it made me look like a plump cow that's been placed in the sea. Every bit of my rolls are showing, and it's something I hated, but it's not what everyone will be focusing on. I needed to focus on my match.

I didn't even watch the other compete; instead, I stood around clearing my mind of anything that could would bother me. I needed a good performance. I needed to make sure the crowd enjoyed what they were watching. A sense of calmness like an east wind wiped through my body lifting the weight off my shoulders taking it away forever. Nothing is wrong. Nothing can change what's about to happen. Either I go out and perform my best, or I go home empty handed which is not an option.

"Genesis Reese."

The sound of the crowd cheering for me was the best feeling in the entire world. They wanted me to win. They wanted someone who was deserving of this medal, not someone who wasn't. Whoever was standing in front of me was going to lose. Whoever my opponent needs to be prepared because I'm going to make sure this ignorant fool goes home in pain.

His words were meaningless. His words were meant to taunt me, and instead of speaking, I stay quiet. It's best not to let my opponent get to me because it can only cause me to make stupid mistakes. I take a deep breath, and when the signal to start is given, I attack with everything I have.

"Who's the bitch now?"
