This whole Olympics thing has been more of a vacation for me than anything else. My first event doesn't take place until tomorrow and I've been sure to take advantage of it. I should be training for tomorrows event, but honestly, I didn't sign up for fame or glory or medals. I signed up for the free trip. To see another district. The only other chance I would get to see something other than the boring parameters of district two is if I got reaped. This is a lot more enjoyable.

I could almost say I prefer any district better than district two, but I know that'd be a lie. But district four is definitely somewhere I'd rather be. These past two days have been spent leisurely relaxing on the beach, casually strolling through the Olympic park, watching other careers pathetically trying to prove themselves, and just taking in every wonderful thing about this district. All the things that my district lacks. The windy, salty air. The calm and peace that comes from watching the water ebb and flow, kissing the shore gently before running off again. Even the people around here and more interesting.

I've met a few locals, and although some of them immediately turned away from me when they realized I was from district two. But most have been friendly enough to make me just want to stay here. 'Accidentally' miss the shuttle home. Whoops, guess I gotta stay in paradise a little longer.

I've found myself gravitating to the beach since I've gotten here. It's my first time being anywhere near a real body of water and I can't get enough. Sitting in sand, letting it cover my legs and run through my toes, is a lot more satisfying than attempting to play with dirt in district two. It seems as though I'm not the only one who's taken kindly to this sandy paradise because I see a lot of familiar faces from back home sporadically lining the beachfront.

I turn to my left and take notice to a guy who doesn't look to pleased with his surroundings. Actually, he looks most annoyed. He's more than likely from one or four, because I don't recognize him. I've made it a point to memorize the faces of everyone who frequents the training center back in two, so I'm almost positive I would know him if he was from my district. I'd venture he's more than likely from four, because the wonders of the beach doesn't seem to faze him at all.

Attempting to make an acquaintance, or even a friend, couldn't hurt me in any situation, honestly. I've got nothing but time until tomorrow, anyway. I don't mind risking looking like a dumbass. The chances of me ever being able to come back to the district again is pretty slim, if not none. So, why not? I make my way over and take a seat only a few feet away from him. He's got a seashell grasped in his hand, ready to be thrown.

"Hey man, you alright?"
