BOXING: ROUND 4

Welcome to the Boxing event of the second Panem Olympic Games! The boxing rings are located within the Olympic Arena, with stands for spectators traveling from Districts One, Two, Four, and the Capitol to watch the competitors. Television cameras are set up around as well, to broadcast the event to anyone staying home as well as to the other districts who aren't as lucky and competent as you all! Please be sure you stretch and warm up with your coaches before you're called to the starting block, and remember, make your district proud!

The boxing event is a tournament, which follows a bracket. Each match will occur on this thread. Feel free to roleplay your character boxing their opponent and then paste the code [*roll range="1-7"] without the asterisk into your post THREE TIMES and roll, as you would with a Hunger Games die. These numbers are added up to determine the winner of each match.

The competitor who scores higher than their opponent moves on to the next round, which will be posted on a new thread. As the boxers post, the winners will be recorded here; when all the first round matches have been completed, the bracket will be updated and the next round will start.

Brody's pride still stung being knocked out of the running for the gold, and he wasn't about to go home without the bronze as a consolation; he knew Nolan would be proud of him no matter what, but Brody hadn't entirely entered for his parents. His Lieutenant had been hinting at a possible promotion if he did well enough, considering what the publicity of a Peacekeeper participating in the Olympics had done for recruitment numbers.

But, you know. No pressure.

If Kendrick whatshisface didn't already know Brody's fighting style by now, it was entirely too late for him to pick it up now. As soon as the bell rang, Brody was going to be right in his face.

This was it. Time to finally get the victory I so deserved. It has been hell getting here and I'm not about to let this slip through my mitts. I spent all last night going over all the punches and dodges I could remember and now it was time to put that to practice. My hands leak my fear releasing any doubts I may have with it. It was time for me to win. Time to fight, because all good things are worth fighting for.

I look at my opponent, another kid from District 2. It seems strange having to knock out a neighbor, but I'm more then willing to do it. Laugh as we bump hands, showing him that he is not a threat to me. He is nothing but a punching bag, and I'm ready for some training. I lock eyes with him as I stand in the corner, and gratefully accept the mouthpiece. The last thing I need is to be toothless when they present the gold to me.

The bell rings, almost drowning in the sea of cheers from the crowd. It's time. I jump up and down once, clearing my head, then...

I go into the fight of my life.

Carver was riding a high. Throughout the past few days he had smashed every single opponent that had been thrown his way. Only one more body stood between him and his prize. A fellow career from district two. But that was also to be expected because the other career districts were just not up to par when it came to challenges of strength. That being said, Carver didn't expect Lionel to give him a good fight. They bumped fists and Lionel laughed. Carver took it to mean that his opponent was nervous. He smiled back with the grin of a predator. The gold medal was his and his alone.

The bell rang.

And then he attacked.
