| Moons and sons, suns and daughters -- I never knew true alone until Velocity left me, in the pits of the demon, here I am. It leaves you in the open, completely open, to all the enemies and siblings and murderers and harlots, (I don't think I like it.) Somewhere she left me, after the sunshine and the moonfall, the rise and the fall of our beating chests. I like it there, I like it where it's whole, no hole in the walls, no bullets in the thick of our skulls, we're just free here. Only ourselves, and I liked it. And I liked it here, only when she was here and we were a thing. Fathers of our time -- she left me, in the thickets of the training stations and the animals that wander between, she is in there. But she likes it, in that pit, she must enjoy it more than being here. It's a party with the dead though, and I think I've forgotten how to breath and can't remember how to remember. In this hole, I'm just another soul; one more wandering body in a casket of 23. We aren't all safe here, and they're idiots to think so. (That's what Saffle tells me.) Pounding in the heat, it's what we've known -- how can they all breath? All twenty-three bodies, and I seem to be the only one who can't, who can't find air to fill my lungs like swords fill their hands. (You'll be dead by morning, Saffle says) How can they keep breathing when we're all dead already? Why can the dead breath better than me; Velocity would know. By the breathing in her ear that is the north wind, he'd tell her his secrets and she'd kiss them into my soul, because by all means, she knows. She always seems to. Twins of hearth but singles in soul -- I take a seat outside of the stations, (I can't breath.) They do know, like I don't, because the dead are proficient in taunting me. In the corner, it's just me and some other blond, just two wings clipped by what name was dragged out of a bowl or who's voice was shouted in the air. Maybe it's just me who "can't breath." His breath doesn't touch my cheek like the north wind does, he is no gust of wind and- "How do the dead like you breath so well?" OOC Notes  |
