Abel MacLaren Even after being in a room with about ten careers for hours, days now, they still petrify me. Almost heartrending fear, freezing fear of them, people that know a martial art like the back of their hand, or the gravity drop on an arrow at 56 and a half meter's for it to land dead in my eye. And one of them, could've had that done on them, but I quite doubt that. Elya Johnwayne. Her name I know, welded to my heart, from the fear of the name. Johnwayne. Her brother, more fearful than any career I've seen. Her brother, who caused me endless fear, fear that someone like him could've got reaped along with Sam in the final years that he could've been reaped in. I know that I must face the fear, before she decides that I'm a target, and I can't fight back, for frozen fear. I walk towards her, sitting down, eating the lunch that many back at home would kill for, and plonk down next to her. "I guess that ya always wanted to be here, in the Games? Be like your brother?" And no doubt obvious in my voice, is the fear. The shiver of frozen bones echoed inside my voice. And hopefully, it'll hold out while I'm talkin'. |
