Don't You Dare Mourn Me Bitches

Only thing I’m capable of sensing next, is the rattling hard texture of the train cart floor meeting with the back of my head. Vision & numbness fades from blurry to nonexistent, and I’m absolutely clueless by what’s happening. I’m dead, aren’t I? Eternally trapped within dark emptiness due to only providing cold attributes to District one, just as Mother always warned. This is the last of my fate. Perhaps this is truly what I deserve. If only I could warn my siblings not to fill my shoes in my absence. They’re both far too good for that.

“Ruckus?” Of course he’d become my only light in this pit of nothingness. Slowly my wounded body comes to life. Unfortunately I can feel my tightening neck that’s screaming with agony, or the numerous deep slashes that are brutally singing as well. Yet I run for my twin. “Ruckus!” I shout against my torn throat. “Don’t you dare become me! Don’t you dare let Rhythm enter these games!” Demands are given without suggestion. But as I run closer, he’s growing smaller. And once I reach him, he’s gone. “Ruckus!” My voice pleas for him to return this instant, “I’m sorry...” Then the forcefulness finally cracks with desperation to feel his warming embrace one last time. But I never will.

The shake of the roaring train welcomes me once more. Seriously? Have I not suffered enough? Now I’m entitled to endure the pain of my death? Instinctively I assume that I’ve been left to wither solo, yet I glance around to spot my alliance members not even budging for departure. Idiots. “What the hell…” I swallow back the pool of blood below my tongue. “Are you guys still doing here?” There’s no assertion for them to leave. No matter how hard I try, I can’t manage it.

“Go kill those bitches.” Well that’s a relief. Was getting a bit worried I wouldn’t be buried with my original personality. It’s bad enough I can’t vocalize my words as roughly as I desire…or apparently with no power at all as they’re still fucking here. Bright blonde hair approaches me, only to discover after a long blink that my eyes are simply playing a trick on me. It’s Olivia, who has the complete opposite of locks. Another lengthy blink is needed before realizing that she’s yearning to patch me up, ordering the others to assist. No wonder I see those light curls, she’s the mental image of Rhythm. Why must she be here?

Automatically I’m weakly shoving her away. “Don’t be stupid…save it.” I do more then insist with all seven fingers of mine refusing her med-kit & pity. But annoyingly it’s more then just her I’m faced needing to argue with. Kirito’s eyes bore into mine with such disapproval. After a moment I have to look away to prevent the tears threatening to intrude. I couldn’t save him from the demons overtaking him. I won’t be able to save Ruckus from his if ever need be. Shouldn’t the ones around me be sorrowful? Not me… Damn them.

“No falling apart without me.” Apparently I have a list of requirements before I’ll allow myself to die. And of course one has to be given to Kirito. I just hope that he doesn’t break when no one’s around to pull him back together.

Lastly, but certainly not least, my focus becomes glued upon Imp. Through everything she remained quiet and uninvolved. But when it came down to defending the group, she did. And even now she hasn’t left my side. I regret not getting closer to her. Allowing my bitch qualities to neglect the actual feelings I have towards her. Guess I’ll never understand my strong urge to protect her, to protect all of them. And they’ll never know either.

A coy grin is given her way prior to being overwhelmed by the pain I do indeed have. Why the fuck haven’t they left yet? “One of you bitches better win…” Is my final request. Correction; “…and tell Ruckus & Rhythm I love them.” Not to demand they go down any other path but mine. I can’t form that many words, no matter how much I need to. Most importantly they have to know I love them more then anything, despite my lack of ever showing it. And that’s what I regret the most.

I stand hovering over the body that was left of Rhyme. She was dying, choking on her words, her face hardening with every movement. She didn't deserve to suffer like that, someone please put her out of her misery.

Even on her death bed she finds the strength to call us bitches...what a bitch.

Well I guess I'm losing my privileged of watching those sexy little hips sway in front of me. I probably would have given up running in a pack, but those things are mesmerizing.

Her bobbed blonde her framing a face of beauty, her ability to arouse me would be missed. Well damn, my eyes would have to go without candy for the rest of my life, guess its not too bad, considering my days are numbered.

Olivia was in shock, poor girl fumbling over Rhymes body trying to wrap her with as many bandages as possible. But I remember the amount of blood a human can lose, and Rhyme had already surpassed it, there was no coming back.

I reach for Olivia's arm, trying to pull he away, but she resisted. "Come on Olivia there is no fixing her." but she was relentless, was determined to find a way.

She was being stupid! Can she not see that Rhyme is already dead!?! I wrap my arms around Olivia's body, pulling her from her knees, and lifting her to me. "OLIVIA, LOOK AT ME SHE IS GONE!!!" I scream, much louder then I expected.

My eyes were welling with tears, and my voice was cracking with every word. Where was all of this coming from? I pull Olivia's head to my neck, holding her from the ground and running my fingers through her hair, I was unaware if she was crying, but I was. "There is no bringing her back, there is no bringing her back, there is no bringing her back...I have failed you."

Just has I always have, and just as I always will.

I was rocking back and forth, feeling my knees begin to buckle, my heart racing, and my eyes streaming with the burning tears that they held. I look to Rhyme mustering up the only smile that I could find. "You are one sick bitch." I say jokingly.

I cant bring myself to let go of Olivia, her warmth made me feel safe. I wanted her to keep me sane, to keep me thriving. I was nothing without someone to follow. I wasn't made to do anything of greatness, I was simply made to assist those that I loved until death overcame me.

I loved Olivia, with all that I knew, but I also loved Rhyme. In two completely different ways, Rhyme was that of which that I wanted to hold, I wanted to lay with, I wanted to see everyday for the rest of my life.

Olivia was someone that I wanted to follow until the end, I wanted to be there for her with every fiber of my being. Was this what the love of a sibling was supposed to feel like?

All I had known was the fist of my older brother, all I could comprehend was the hatred that blood could make. But there was a bond stronger then blood, and that was this damn arena. Olivia, you will go home.

"You coming with me or staying with him?" these words fall from Olivia's lips, and I hardly understand what to do. It was time to make the a change.

I promise my life to her, I look to Olivia and nod, following close behind her. I take a look back to Kirito, he has to understand, our paths no longer intertwine.

Safety in numbers is hardly comforting to the girl whose eyes hold tears, but not letting them fall. Even though her hair cascades over and past her shoulders, she doesn't seem to push them back. She only fights with the satchel to retrieve the bandages and needle and thread to try to sew up what had been opened from each wound, but the more blood that exits Rhyme's body has Olivia's fingers shaking more than ever before. Fumbling with the needle, unable to thread the tiny wire through it, exhaustion finally sets in and her breath hitches in her throat, choking up a cough.

"Imp... she's dying. Kirito? Help me. Help... me?" She fusses with the bandages but the world around her disappears. Darkness looms around her vision turning into tunnel with no light at the end. Absolute fear for losing this girl that she had bickered with and fought with since meeting her was going and going fast. The last bits of words that escape her mouth puts her into utter disbelief.

"No! RHYME. You tell them yourselves. I won't let you die. I won't..." She tries to convince, but slowly, she denies the fact that she's about to lose her first ally in these games after three days. Perhaps she was being naive and thinking that they can all make it out alive, however her eyes fall close. The exact moment that she starts to realize that this isn't no fairytale is when the first tear slowly rolls over the lid and tickles her cheek as it trails to her chin, falling on the girl below her. Tears mixing with blood and sweat. Shaking her head, she don't even notice until arms are pulling her away from Rhyme.

"No! Leave me... I've got ta... to..." Rejecting the touch of Imp is futile. Trying to insist upon her coming back to life wasn't going to happen. There was no force stronger than Imp and in the matter of a quick second, she found herself in Imp's grip and her screaming at her.

She stares at Imp, distraught and completely in shock as she listens to Imp's begging her to understand. Just like that, she's forced to lay her head on Imp's shoulder and out of the sight of wandering eyes, she forces yet another tear to fall and soak into the shirt of Imp. Words of no comfort sting Olivia's ears. Painful words peircing straight through her senses and pain was never so evident before. Not physical pain, but the pain of an emotion spear to the heart.

"She can't die. Imp? We let her die. I let her die." Anger boiled gently in her heart as she remembered the one who had attacked her first. "I'm glad he's dead. He did this. That boy touched her first."

Instead of forcing herself away from Imp, she allowed her arms to wrap around her. Only, she never completed the circle and brought her hands upward until she could see the red tipped nails and stained hands with Rhyme's blood. Hazy brown eyes fell unto unease.

"She's not gone. Is Rhyme really gone?" She whispers into Imp's ear, begging her to answer with something she wasn't ready to hear. Ever so gently, she forced her head off Imp's shoulder. Olivia's glassy eyes met with her ally for a moment and then forced herself further out of her grip.

A simple glance toward Kirito and then to Rhyme again set her into motion. A quick swipe at her eyes rid her of any tears that tried to force themselves out again. "I swore to myself I would ne.. never cry." As if this moment changed her attitude, she rushed over to pick up her spear, pushing herself forward to the scene of both Rhyme and Kirito.

"She's not going to die." She fell onto her knees with a thud and brought the tip of the spear closest to Kirito and with one quick jerk a lock of hair was removed from the girl and put into her hand. "I refuse it. Kirito, make sure you patch her up. Take care of Rhyme. I'll take care of her killers. I'll make sure they pay with every single breath of their life. They will feel the pain of this loss in more than one way."

Olivia clutched the lock of hair in her hands and gathering her items. Securing her spear in her hand, she looked to Imp. "You coming with me or staying with him?"

"Even when you think you have lost yourself, remember why you are here.."

Kirito couldn't stop his body from shaking as the tears leaked from his eyes. His hands softly rubbed Rhyme's beautiful head as if to comfort a crying child. Even through Rhyme's bitter words and the distastefulness of Kirito's allies all he could see was the light dimming in her eyes. Memories of the last week swam through his mind like a school of fish deep within the ocean's grasp. Images of laughing, smiling, and of course dancing exploded through his visions. Good moments and bad that all seemed to revolve around one glimmering center piece that outshone them all. Rhyme Morales.

When Kirito had first met her she was just another career not to be trusted. However instead of taunting him or leaving him be to rot in his own stomach's bile she stood by him and comforted him. When he broke down over the blood that ran down his fingers she comforted him. She was his anchor and his saving grace. A light the world had snuffed out in its dark cruelty.

The sound of another canon sent shrills down Kirito's already deteriorating body. He knew in moments Rhyme's own canon would be firing like nothing. Maybe he could stop it? Gently he brought out the supplies as Olivia pleaded him for help. Yet of course Rhyme wouldn't let them help. She had to be strong. She had to show the world that no matter what Rhyme Morales had a body and heart of steel and that nothing could break her. She had to show them the true preforming star she was, and oh how well she had done in her time.

A loud sob shook Kirito's body as he barely slapped her forcing her to look into his eyes from his lap. Then before he could think of anything to say he just leaned over and calmly touched his lips to hers. It should have been warmer. Her lips her already chilling with the claws of death bringing her deeper and deeper into its void. However when their lips finally broke apart he whispered as straight forward as he could into her ear. "Ruckus and I are gonna see ya soon. Its okay to let go now Rhyme, this show is over for ya but ya next one is waitin' for ya. I promise to get front row tickets."

Then her canon fired liked a bullet into Kirito's chest as his head feel into her chest. Desperately through his cries he searched for one last flicker of a heart beat in hopes that the game makers were wrong, but they weren't. She was gone. Off onto a whole new frontier that had just received one of the best people a shitty world of darkness like this could create. However the sadness of the mood only grew darker as Olivia forced Imp to choose between them. Naturally it resulted in them packing their things and turning their backs towards him.

Kirito looked as they turned from him a sight he knew all to well. He was going to be alone again. He was a little freak no one could ever love. He was going to die alone like he deserved but at least Rhyme didn't. She deserved only the best and for everyone to be with her. However he was not Rhyme, he was just a little boy lost in a world he could not fix without blood and tears.

Shakily he spoke out to the girls as they walked away, abandonning him like some kind of gutter rat. His voice cracked as he sobbed, "Fine! Just leave meh! I shouldda known nobody was eva gonna love meh!" As his body shook harder he hugged Rhyme tighter begging her to come back to him. "Please don' leave meh." He cooed, "I'm not ready to be alone again. I just need someone to hold meh an' tell meh it will be okay. Please Rhyme don' leave meh like they did...please."
