Jupiter Gravity | District 6 | FIN

Towering his siblings, Jupiter is at the impressive height of six foot and four inches and is still growing. Jupiter isn’t the typical lanky long legs either; his build is quite thick, which isn’t due to him working out for hours on end. He was just born like that, born big boned as he says. Positioned on the top of his body is a great big cranium, many at first look presumed it holds a great brain although many who know him well insist it is empty. With all this strength, Jupiter has nothing productive to do with it, so tends to practice punching walls or people’s faces. 

Strikingly fierce grey eyes, at first glance many are frightened of him, which they should be. The usual facial expression for Jupiter, is a scrunched up, I AM GOING TO BREAK YOUR FACE kind of expression. Many a times he may even turn into a tomato with his fury. There has only ever been the rare occasion where Jupiter has actually smiled. When it does happen, it usually when he has a person’s face in the dirt. 

Ran through in the morning with water, Jupiter does try to tend to his hair, although abruptly fails to impress anyone. Even though he loves his brute strength, it can be his greatest downfall. Jupiter is scarce on friends and those follow him are more or less like slaves. He’d do anything to trade in his height to be a bit shorter but would ideally prefer to keep the muscles; he enjoys showing them off to the ladies.

Growing up without a brain in District Six is pretty hard for Jupiter, as he is surrounded by geniuses.What can anyone do in District 6 without a brain? Jupiter with his brute strength would be an ideal lumber in District Seven or even a miner in District Twelve but he is stuck in the scientific district, where he is no use. Jupiter can’t help having no brain, he just can’t focus and everything blows over his head, especially topics which he does not find interesting. He has real basic reading and writing skills, which let him down in his schooling years. Teachers found it hard to teach him, as he was very disruptive in his classes. He wasn’t exactly the class clown more like the school bully, which he is still known as.

Losing control of his temperament regularly, Jupiter poured all his anger into his strength, regularly being violent towards other people. He isn’t exactly a verbal bully; he doesn’t know any words to back himself up in an argument so he just uses his fists instead. Usually he picks on those much weaker than himself and mainly the runt of his litter. Jupiter gets up to the usual tactics of a bully, planting heads in toilets, hanging people on branches by their boxers as well as throwing a few fists at noses.

Jupiter can’t help losing his anger, at times he wishes he never does. He is usually down on himself because of his lack of intellect, what kind of future is he going to have in this world? Surrounded by geniuses, Jupiter is a shadow to his bright siblings; he is the embarrassment to the family. Instead of crying and locking himself in his room over his low self-esteem, he resorts to bullying. This is the only way he can feel superior over people, the only way he can earn respect. Although he knows he can’t do it all his life but hasn’t planned on what he will do in his future so in the meantime, he’ll have to practice giving wedgies to his younger siblings.

Being a part of a big wealthy family, Jupiter was spoiled from birth. Taking his families wealth as an advantage, Jupiter was a real spoiled brat. Forever begging for the best toys, he used to throw tantrums. Throwing himself to the ground, screaming and kicking out to get what he wanted. Occasionally he did but his mother was very reluctant to let him get away with it, wanting to discipline him. Growing past the tantrum throwing stage, Jupiter turned his attention elsewhere. He began to pick on his siblings, every single one of them, he didn’t care if they were older or not. Running into their room disturbing them, ruining their schoolwork, he always had a different trick up his sleeve. Slowly he lost respect from his siblings; they found him quite annoying so began to ignore him.

Born to be the biggest baby that his mother had, having already called her children previous after the planets in our solar system, Jupiter was named after the biggest planet.

During schooling Jupiter struggled a lot, his mother brought in a tutor to school him at home too. Jupiter went through four different tutors; all of them couldn’t engage him to learn so gave up on him. Jupiter became a real nightmare for his mother; he was the failure of the family, the delinquent.

As he grew older his teasing became more violent. Realizing he was much bigger than his siblings, bust lips became a regular feature for the family. Many began to avoid him, so Jupiter sought out to find friends in the district. Those he befriended were similar to him, the throwaways of intelligent families; he began his own little gang. Going around the district with his crew, he began to terrorize kids as they left school. Tearing up books, stealing their lunch, there was nothing he wouldn’t do to earn the respect he wanted. Although slowly his crew thought Jupiter was too harsh, so a few abandoned him. Enraged he tried to blackmail them but they threatened to tell the Peacekeepers on him.

Alone in an intelligent world, Jupiter feels out of place, he doesn’t belong here. He is the miss-matched piece in the Gravity family jigsaw puzzle.
