All Rhapsody ever wanted was to have a sibling to stand beside him. To help him endure the dark loneliness of the life he was born into. However, he did have others who shared his blood. Shared his father. Yet he could never even glance in their direction. One wrong look and he would be returned the pain he had been promised by his mother. A promise that she never failed to keep.

It was right around the age of five when Rhapsody's mother became so harsh. Now that he could go to school the risk of him making forbidden contact with the other Morales children were higher. An event his mother would never allow to occur. So she did the one thing she knew would prevent such actions. Whenever they were mentioned or even looked at she would beat Rhapsody. Scars and bruises still loiter Rhapsody's body today from all the lessons he was taught, and for a while they worked.

Then when Rhapsody finally turned thirteen everything changed. Not his mother and her horrid actions but life itself. It was a normal Autumn day when Rhapsody was walking home from his career training. Out of no where a hand yanks his arm forcing him to face her. Instantly a stone formed in Rhapsody's throat as he looked Rhyme Morales' fierce eyes straight on. He had only ever watched his siblings from afar but now one was right in his bubble.

Rhyme spent no time wasting as she turned his face to the side looking at the mark on his Rhapsody's neck. Fear was shooting through his veins like wildfire at the thought of his mother's reaction. Yet he was also quite excited by Rhyme's company, that was until she finally spoke up. "You have the same birth mark that both my father and all of his children have. The mark of a Morales. Who are you?" Her words weren't filled with anger but they were dipped in demand. So with a shaky voice Rhapsody told her the story of how he was her half brother and how his mother forced him away.

Ever since that meeting though Rhapsody continued to see Rhyme. They chose a secluded spot near the district edge that no one ever went as their new meeting place. At first they would see one another every other month due to the fear that controlled Rhapsody, but as his confidence grew in the fact they wouldn't get caught the more they saw each other. At one point the two were seeing each other three times a week. Rhyme had become Rhapsody's saving grace besides his only friend Riddle. She was the perfect sibling he could have ever asked for, and then she was stolen away from him.

The moment Rhyme was reaped for the Hunger Games was the worst travesty Rhapsody could have imagined to happen. She was his perfect sister. Full of love but still the biggest bad ass he knew, and just like that she was swept away from him and thrown into the horrors of the Games. For some time Rhapsody believed she would return home to him and with her new power take him away from his mother, but just as with everything he was wrong. When Rhyme died all light and hope for a chance with the Morales family died with it. Rhapsody knew he would be thrown back into the life of watching Ruckus and Rhythm, only ever watching.

For as long as Rhapsody could remember he has been a very emotional child. He could be set off in a swift second and thrown into a storm of tears just a few moments later. Sensitivity has allows seemed to hinder Rhapsody like a chain dragging him down. He could never understand jokes since he simply took them too personally. However once Rhyme died it became even worse. The mood swings tore apart the fabric of Rhapsody's life. He was always yelling or sobbing. There was never an in-between, only guilt riddled grief.

Sadly due to Rhapsody's constant wavering of emotions he has never had the confidence all the other careers seem to have. He is never able to shine as brilliantly as Rhyme did. Even in her final diminishing moments Rhyme shone brighter and more confident than any star in the black sky of night. Rhapsody wishes he could be more confident in himself but every time he feels like he is good at something he just imagines the fists of his mother and it all vanishes.

The only bright side Rhapsody can see from the torments of his mother is the fact that he has learned to be strong and carry on. Even with Rhyme in his life Rhapsody could have chosen to turn away from her and listen to his mother's constant beatings, but instead he pushed through. He keeps his dreams in the front of his mind. Even if he now believes he will never join the Morales family he does full heartily believe he will always be with them. Even if they don't notice him watching from his far away prison.

One thing that actually makes Rhapsody smile is when he looks in the mirror. As much as his mother tries to deny this fact Rhapsody does actually look like his father and his siblings. Sure he doesn't have the shimmering glory of Rhyme's blonde hair but facially their strictures are very similar. His green eyes matching hers perfectly and his brown hair just like the locks of his father. Even his pasty white skin matched theirs. He was a Morales through and through, even with the various scars and bruises that permanently line his body. For Ripred's sake he even shared the mark of the family on his neck as proof.

However his mother knew that so she did her best to keep it hidden. The day Rhyme found him was a fluke in which his neck wasn't covered by one of the various turtle necks he is always required to wear. Then besides though he is almost always wearing jeans and some sort of beanie. Basically anything and everything to keep him covered. The only exception to this strict attire is on Reaping day when he wearings a nice button down shirt and some nicer pants. Other than that he is shoved right back to where he belongs. As the invisible Morales that never existed.

Just remember who they are,
just remember who you are,
just remember who Rhyme Morales was.
