Appearance:
Quiet and hidden away from the rest of the world stands a boy. Dark brown eyes downcast as he stares at his left leg willing it to move, yet it doesn't work. Each step he takes, it drags behind him. A club foot, along with severely weak leg muscles, has ruined his life. All Iain wants to do is climb trees with the other kids in the district, but with his lame leg it has become impossible. Tiny hands reach high into the trees gripping the lowest branch possible. Using every ounce of strength he has, Iain pulls himself into the tree, yet he can't go on. His legs doesn't boost him like he wants them too. Spasms shoot through him shaking his leg uncontrollably making it almost impossible to stand. Anger radiates through his body.

Iain just wants to be normal. He was tired of dragging his leg behind him with each step he took. He was tired of feeling weak. It must look funny watching a boy walk around with a lame leg, but Iain tried to hide his emotions under a mask. He always tried putting his attention somewhere else. Like he was fairly short stature standing only four foot nine inches tall, and his weight was incredibly low. Very little muscles covered his body. He wanted to feel strong like the older boys in the district. Some of them were huge, and he wanted muscles like them, but with the hunger bearing down upon him, Iain knew it was almost impossible. Yet from being out in the sun a lot, he does have a slight tan to his skin.

Dark, shaggy hair plasters against his face mixing with sweat and tears. A beast growls inside his stomach begging for a bite to eat - his parents split their portions between him and his older brother, yet it's never enough. His ribs are noticeable from beneath his dirty clothing. His face is sunken in leaving a bony structure. His eyes downcast as he stares off into the distance wishing he was like everyone else. Pale, chapped lips rarely form a smile as he keeps his yellow stained teeth hidden. Dirt covers his slightly tan skin. Black grime builds up underneath his cracked nails - no matter how many times he tries to clean it out, the dirt remains. Crusted knuckles, and dirty hands hide deep within his pockets always out of site.

Personality:
Loner is one word used to describe Iain. He prefers staying by himself away from the rest of the world because he's afraid of people. His lame leg makes it hard for him to go out into the open and make friends. He's afraid of being made fun of because he can't walk. A wall is built so high up around him, that he can't see the good in anyone except his family. Even then, he prefers to sit in the corner of the room listening to them talk. Any time he's asked to interact, he nods his head before shifting his attention to the floor once more. He also has extreme trusts issues because of his fear. He doesn't trust anyone when he first meets them. They have to build the trust between him. Once he trusts someone, he lets his walls down allowing them inside to get know him.

All Iain wants is for everyone to accept him, and to realize that inside his broken body is a person who is loving and caring. Iain loves taking care of his family, and any animal that he ever meets. He cries when he sees a dead animal, or whenever he sees anyone die. It breaks his heart in a matter of seconds, and he tries his best to take care of any sick animal he meets, or any person. It breaks him quicker than anything else in the world. Iain doesn't cry in front of people, though, because he hates looking weak since he already looks weak on the outside. It's not what he wants, or what he needs. Sometimes he wishes people would look into his eyes and see all the pain he's living in each and every day of his life. Maybe then they would ask him if he was alright, or if he wanted to talk.

He has trouble expressing emotions. Normally he locks them away inside his body shoving more and more emotions away until he's locked away all that he can allow. Like a volcano under pressure, the emotions explode inside of him, usually at the stupidest thing, and his temper snaps. It takes a lot to make him angry, but once he's angry, it takes a lot to draw him back in. Usually he lashes out saying hateful words, but once he's calmed down, he normally regrets what he has done, and he searches for the person to apologize to hoping it'll make things right. One thing Iain hates is he's an angry cryer. He can be arguing with someone, and he starts crying. It makes him angrier that he's crying, which in return, only makes him cry more. He's never really understood it.

Iain loves helping out. He enjoys helping his family out more than anything in the world. Whenever his parents ask him to do something, he's quick to get to it, but usually slow to complete the task. His mind wonders a lot making it hard to focus on one thing for too long. He loves teasing his family, but be warned, he can call them names and say things and get away with it, at least in his mind, because they're family. If anyone outside the family tried teasing or taunting them, he would stand his ground telling them to back away because his family is his life. His family is his number one priority, and he wants to make them happy. He's always up to learning new things in life, and a lot of his knowledge comes from his parents, and his brother, and cousins. It's enough to give him a decent outlook on life despite fearing his future.

History:
Thirteen years ago, Iain was brought into the world. Growing up, his family was pour. He never had enough to eat despite all the hard work his family put in every single day. Throughout the night, he huddled in bed under the holey blankets willing himself to stay alive. The sound of his stomach was loud, but eventually it went away. His parents split the portions between Iain and his older brother trying to keep them alive. Even during the hottest months, Iain would hide underneath his covers. He would sing to himself trying everything he could to distract his mind from the harsh world he was living in. Iain's mom would sing him to sleep. She would hold him in her arms rocking him back and forth until he finally drifted away. Even when he was older, she'd hold him in her arms rocking him. For the longest time, it was the only way he would fall asleep.

It was around the time he started walking, that his mom noticed something was wrong with his leg. Unlike his right leg, the left leg wouldn't bend at the knee making it almost impossible for Iain to stand, but they figured out ways to make it work. Normally he drags it behind him as he walks, and it leaves a limp he hates, but he's learned to deal with it. He didn't have any problems with it until he started school, and trying to work in the orchards climbing the tallest of trees to pick the fruits at the top. Yet he managed to make it work little by little. When he was in school, he was afraid of what people would do to him, so he always chose to sit the in the furthest corner away from everyone. It's his own fault that he hasn't made any friends because he refused to open up to anyone.

Sometimes Ikaia would take Iain out into the fields when he was gathering the plants his brother used for the healing potion for his mom. Ikaia told him warning signs of what was what, and what he shouldn't touch. It only took one mistake where he didn't listen to Ikaia, and he learned the hardway. Some of the plants cause horrible rashes. Ikaia laughed at him for the longest of time, but soon it helped build a bond between them. It wasn't anything like the bond that Ikaia and Kirito had, but it was enough to keep him going. Soon, Ikaia would come over to the tiny shack of a house, and get him whenever Kirito sent him on a plant hunt. Each time, Iain started learning more and more about plants until he was finally able to gather them himself. He enjoyed helping Ikaia, not only because it brought them closer, but because it gave him a chance to feel free.

Whenever Kirito was reaped for the games, Iain thought he was as good as dead. Iain stayed in the dsitrict square right beside Ikaia watching every second of the game. Many nights, Iain slept in front of the screen, so when a cannon sounded, he could hear it and look up to see if Kirito was alive or dead. When Kirito won, Iain started looking up to him as a role model. He wants to be like Kirito. A strong, brave being even in the darkest of situations. It was his first reaping when Kirito was reaped for the games, and it terrified him, but now he isn't as afraid of the reapings anymore. Maybe one day he could make his family proud. Maybe one day he could become the next Kirito. An honorable man, but he was afraid. Iain could never endure the hell he watches people go through once a year.
