“Damn, did it take you all week to think of that one?" Following the quick-fire response, a fist to the jaw, sending me back slightly. Erupting from my mouth as my head bounced back from the hit, saliva flew into the crowd. Oo’s came after the hit and the response. Pulsating, I could feel the rush of adrenaline take over my body, the game was on.

How was I to explain my injuries to Miranda? I’ve never come out worse from the training centre but that will have to be the excuse.

Tightening my fists, my vision would fix on the opponent as I tried to block the crowd. Cheering was beginning to distract me; the focus was all gone from my brain, unless I could forget about them. It’s just me and this guy. Me and this guy in an empty room. Shaking my head to rid of the throbbing pain in my jaw, I’d string up a better response. ”Are your responses always as weak as your punches?” A chuckle would roll after the comment although of course it was all lies. He did in fact throw a great hit, for my face would not be in the pain it is in now. I need to step up my game; otherwise I’ll be the one saying hello to the floor.

An empty room, just me and Fault, in battle together but for what? What exactly will we gain after this fight? I am for sure likely to face another if I win this, one opponent down and then replaced with another. Is there even a prize at the end? I know I am here just to learn but why is everyone else here? Why is my opponent here?

Fault’s fist would fly into my chest, as my guard was down, my defence is weak. Raising my fists in the air, I’d try to build a shield around me I need to come out of this, I need to prove that I am not useless. Yet not being the greatest career at the centre, I must’ve at least learnt something, defend yourself Thane ;just don’t hurt this dude while doing it.

”If you didn’t want to get hurt, you shouldn’t have joined the fight club.” Sending my fist forwards, I’d try to at least look more superior that Fault, even if my comments are weak.

Quickly the crowd returned to the room, as the cheering began to erupt again, it is too hard to block them out. I must learn to adapt to it, maybe their cheers could help me perform better although I do not hear my name amongst it. I am pretty sure a majority of them don’t even know my name, after all I am the new meat and I am rarely the conversational type at the centre away. I just put my head down and get on with whatever I am doing, conversations are for later.

Landing at the side of my ribs, another hit although he feels quite weak. Oh wow, is that his best shot? I should take advantage of this but the potty talk must stop, I am losing all the good words to fire at Fault. ”At least I am actually trying.” Pushing my fist towards Fault, I hope it to be a better throw than the last one, maybe I could bruise his face this time around.

“Ugh” trails from my mouth, as another hit rolls onto the side of my ribs, they’re really beginning to become the main target. Bruised ribs? Even broken, I’ve never broken a bone before. If I break anything, I’d be out for a while and who would look after the twins and Miranda? I’ve had my fair share of burst lips and black eyes but they’re a common injury in the Training centre. For a while I was known as panda eyes, the twins regularly reminded me of such nickname. I wasn’t very proud of it.

Fists outwards slightly, I’d try to make the defensive barrier around me larger, I need to block everything. However I won’t win this fight with just defence, I need to work better on the offence. Really, I should’ve practiced more on the punch bags before enlisting here; I look like a real fool prancing around with Fault. Although it seems the attacks being laid on me are as identical as my own. Fault seems like a swell guy and his face is very familiar, if either of us is conscious after this, we should really hang out. He doesn’t seem the vicious typical career type. Although I am not the best at character spotting.

”Need’s more effort in it” Aiming my fists towards Fault, I’d try to prove real effort.

Pain would erupt in my body as the battering ram smashes into my ribs; they’re for sure broken this time. Screwing up my face, I’d try not to let out an outburst of pain although my body was not complying and a small whaling noise would drop out of my mouth. Fault really gave a good example and I may need his skill to help, I may just take up his offer to train at the centre. ”Yes…sure.” If I was to share anymore words, I’d likely cry as the pain is beginning spread across my body like wildfire.

Shaking my head, I’d try to focus again, just a couple more hits and I could win this. Thane you really need to put all the effort into this one or it is game over Deciding against the witty comments, I’d put my full attention to the throws, extending my fist out to Fault with a hope of a greater hit than my previous one.
