A single two- three- and the boy finds himself crashing onto the floor, face covered in the blood that seeps from his nose. Bandages that wrapped gently around my knuckles had shifted from the off white, to scarlet drops of blood along the tightened and loosened ends. A fight left unscathed was always not only a blessing, but a rare sight to lay eyes upon.


Time was relatively nothing to waste, with only a five minute break in between the rounds, the pairs kept coming and going. Brackets filling and eliminating, but not on their own, each one that left signified just one person who couldn't withstand the lose of blood. Blood that was taken by those who lusted for it the most, and to say that none of us wanted, desired, to harm each other was a telltale. That was proven wrong ever since one would step their precious foot into the arena.


A monarch slave to chaos that was brought within these walls, I wrap new bandages around my clean knuckles. Washing the old ones away with the blood that spotted along the bandage, I was prepared for not an easy outcome of this next fight. Not as easy as the last, however my name was made for the brackets, printed and etched into stone, I was virtually born for this.


Tucking the loose end underneath the layers my eyes shift from my knuckles to the girl who stands ahead of me. Her hair faded from blonde to a lavender, that cascaded down her shoulders and to her lower back. Her build visually wasn't as solid as mine, however I was never one to judge the cover of a book. For even the tiniest people can pack a mean punch. And even the smallest lions hold the loudest roar.

"Aren't you a bit too pretty to be wandering around down here?"

"Oh, I don't know-"

My shift back from the girls bodaciously banging body, and back to my knuckles, fixing bandage as it falls apart. Looking back over to her breasts then to her face, after a slight hesitation, I part my lips.

"I guess we'll see about that."

"Don't worry darling, I don't play with my food too much."

"That's too bad.

I'd always prefer to be played with before eaten."

The girls hits were nothing more than mere lashings that only broke skin by a slit. It was nothing compared to the fights I've endeavored in the past, win or loss and I was either eliminated to ranked higher in the brackets. The girl, Sloan, was one of my kind. Very few in numbers, some repeated, those who have won the night against the rest, shattering every opponent of theirs into nothing more than a limp body on the cold, hard ground.


My eyes gaze over her flushed red face, words taken in and swallowed whole. In response she has come up with nothing to say, for it is clear in her face. However, in fights like these it's the reaction behind the punch that determines a win or loss, not the words that could be thrown like daggers from each other.

"Well,
it's too bad
that bad girls don't get to be played with,
only sit in the corner."

"Oh what a shame.

Maybe you'll have to show me a lesson-

But that can wait until after, sweetheart."

Cheeks flushed a bright red and the girl looked as though she'd just been tipping at her breaking point. It was almost like those carnival games that come into the District once a year, where a player would talk a hammer and try to hit the bar hard enough to ding the bell. Punch after punch, word after word, I was barely even spewing word play and Sloan's bell was already almost radiating noise from it. This was an effortless deal and I know better than to let her sensual efforts to pierce me, bringing me down in this fight.


Swinging my fist towards the girls face, my once solid white bandage now dots with blood. My knuckles aimed right for her lips, ready to break skin like they were meant to. And I know, that this fight will be but another walk in the park.

I can feel my knuckles crack against the chiseled features of Sloan's bone. Blood is ripped and stolen from where it once laid, leaving only a fresh wound that would scar over in due time. A mouth full of blood, the girls gums split open as an effortless punch was dealt in her face, and it goes to wonder how she even made it as a Supreme anyway. However, clearly it isn't a title to hand out like baked goods, Sloan was holding back more than she could throw. And perhaps she hadn't realized it yet.


Salted tears rip from her eyes grasp, burning deep into her flesh as they roll down her cheeks. The apples of her once pristine face flush red, as though she'd been baking in the sun. Whether it was through pain, or a natural reaction, it showed weakness. Something that was to be hidden deep beneath, for embarrassment is all you'll bring to yourself in a place like this. And for that, I don't feel pity for her. Her swing reflects just as much as her will power, throwing a fist in my direction she only catches me in the jaw. A shrug off the shoulder and it hadn't done much.

"We can stop whenever you'd like-

Princess."

A growl followed by a smirk, and then finally a fist thrown in her direction.

Anger boiled beneath the surface, and Sloan looked like she was ready to break more than what she'd shown. And perhaps she hadn't been angry, but there is a damn clear indication that happiness and content were in her grasp. Blood dripped from nose to hand, profusely rushing out of her nose and mouth and satisfaction is the only thing that I could feel. Hand to shirt and the blood marked a streak in place of its off white complexion.


As her levels only rose, her punches did as well. Socked to the bone, my cheek felt pain spread through it like a rapid fire. Pulsing to my brain, sore nerves were tender to the touch. Normally people would have different reactions to pain, a fight or flight situation, distancing themselves from it immediately. However, pain is something I welcomed, embraced. And it was clear that that is what draws the line between me and Sloan. For pain is like a second nature to me, the first being victory.

"What's the matter, sweetheart?

Nothing to say?"

Words weren't going to win this battle for her, and I knew that very clear. But where's the fun in a knife fight when one person only brings it?
