My hair is a chocolatey color along with my eyes, giving a dark vibe to places around me. It is practically the exact opposite in comparison to my pale skin, and it’s hard to tell which stands out more. I love to smile, so that other people also know that it is okay to be happy even in the saddest of times. I can be bitter, but only at times when I don’t have a daily cup. My daily chalice of wine that I hide from my parents. If I have my cup, I can be as happy as a man one year sober. Becoming sober from my addiction is not an option. I don’t want to be bitter. Every day as the red touches my lips, it makes me happier.
Luna Shim, a young blonde was like me with happiness and smiles, but she didn’t need an addiction to make that happen. She was weak, just your average casualty of the Hunger Games. Sol told me stories about her. Even though I watched her practically get mauled by a pack of careers, I still liked to hear stories of her that I didn’t know, stories of when she was younger.
I take a sip from my wine every morning, sometimes before I can even see the sun rise from my bedroom. It keeps me happy, it keeps my sane, and it keeps my active. I hold my chalice as if it is my first born child. I do not plan on becoming clearheaded anytime soon. I just want to be with my cup of red wine, so I can be the Prince, Prince Charming.
