townfoolery {half-bitches Daria/Rowdy}

Ever since I had choked Leo to death, I’ve felt uneasy. A murderer. Killer. Executioner. I had killed him because he was doing the same as I: trying to protect those who need protecting. When he had failed, I kept going to make sure he was punished. I punished the boy by cutting his air supply. He had to squirm as he died. I can’t imagine how much that must have hurt. I’d rather die a quick and pain-free death. I want to have that cannon blow before I can even hit the ground. No, I don’t want to have an emotional breakdown and cry for hours. I just want to continue on into my next dream as quickly as possible. No pain. No minutes of excruciating pain. No blood. No having last words that stick with people forever.

I was with Tyler, Heather, and Daria for the remainder of the night, but I kept my distance. They shouldn’t be near a murderer. Daria doesn’t deserve to kiss a murderer goodnight like she did last night. They deserve a humble and calm man, the type who protects, but he isn’t the one to actually murder. They deserve anyone but myself.

I can’t believe Jequirity and Saxton never tried to get revenge on us. Not once but twice have we now put Jequirity through a position of mourning. Now, she mourns her dispatched arm and Leo.

Something happened to Heather. I’m afraid to ask what because I know that Heather is a murderer, too, and murdering another wouldn’t change a thing. She’s been bumping into things left and right, so maybe it’s something with her eyes? I can’t tell much, but I know if you don’t have something nice to say, do not say anything at all.

Daria has visible injuries. Her foot is gone, and those don’t heal back, not even in dreams where anything is possible. That has to be one of the hardest things. Even if she is a figment of my imagination, her backstory had that foot in it, and now, she can’t continue the memory of her foot. It doesn’t seem like much, but if you had lost your finger, you’d mourn it like your child.

As the sun falls and the moon rises upon us, I lay in the smelly bog. There’s practically been silence. I don’t speak to them. I don’t look any of them in the eye besides Daria. She has her chalkboard in her hands, but even then there is no conversation. Did they see? I’m afraid of them. Now, they might know I murdered someone. They might think they’re next. You can’t help but think that in a time like this. They have every right to walk away.

The sky chimes another mournful tune.

District Three, Leo Everitt.

It hurts to see the face of the male. He didn’t deserve to die. I didn’t have to kill him (but I did, and would do it again if it meant keeping Daria alive and well). And now he’s just another chapter completed.

District Ten, Leticia Tibideaux.

This one makes my body cringe. District Ten. My partner is dead, and all I have to remember her by is her cries on the train. Mace and Saffron tried to calm her down, and they obviously did a well enough job if she survived to the third day. That’s one goal down, I guess. I lasted longer than her.

My eyes awaken to a fresh terrain. My first instinct is to go on alert for people who might have taken me here. I get up, and my vision clears. I’ve seen this terrain before. I look down to the ground to see Daria laying on the ground.

I don’t want to startle her yet, but if she doesn’t wake up soon, I’ll make sure to get her attention. I drink my water, and eat some of the plants I had gotten a few days ago. I knew they were safe (thank goodness for that one station, or else I could be in serious shit right now).

”Daria?” I call out, but quickly wish to take my words back. She can’t hear anything. I put my axe into my bag and shake her shoulder. I continue to shake it. Her hair lays on the somewhat grassy ground. The colors do not mix well together, which is an easy sign for someone.

I see her eyes flicker open. How did she get here? I mean, her foot (or lack of) couldn’t have just clicked back on, took her along with myself down here, and then severed again! She’s alive, and I’m sure as hell glad for it. Heather and Tyler are not in my sights. Did they take us here so they could get in on in private?

I retrieve my axe from my bag and wait for her to get up. Thank ripred you’re okay.

Let's just hope all we've worked for doesn't come crumbling down.
