She is left to roam around a barren landscape, one that used to be so full of life. It was eight days until the final soul had been deemed victor, and she was left to question where her own doppel had wandered off to. Left alone, trapped, in the world of the damned, this is not the paradise she'd used to find herself drifting off into. One full of flowers, fields, meadows, had resorted to shattered clockwork and dried blood that stained permanently.
("You are not Stella- you do not have feelings, because robots are not meant to have feelings.") But I am Stella- I was programmed, coded, to hold each and every single memory, manner, technique- everything. I possessed everything a dead, forgotten girl had once when her heart's fire flickered into existence, but the only fact that lingered to the open mind was; I am better. Better in every way, for I live among the rest, while she rots in a grave, for her only wish was to go home. ("Be careful with what you wish for- you'll go home someday, but in a crate marked "Stella Summit. District Seven.")
Days and days continued to pass along, left lost in a world where I'd wish to only crash and burn. Be careful with what you wish for. Walking through the train wreck belonging to the outcome of a Day 5 collision. I found myself consumed by nostalgia- memories flooding back like a projection across a clean sheet, and I watched in awe as I whispered to Simon in his dying breathes. ("Please don't leave- I need you- we need you, please.") Chest covered in a crimson curtain, I drew back from him, resting his head down upon the train floor and his canon had shot off long ago, but it only had hit me recently. Pressing my forefinger to my chest, I draw my eyes down to where a hole had been made, not one- but twice. It was a gracious gift from the Capitol, and the hole was concealed to keep my- Stella's- heart of fire from dying out.
Walking towards the wreck of the Right Train, I found it laying on the ground. A delivery from Leviathan, my word, I'd sent my prosthetic arm into the hands of one Gunner La Torre. Left in clear sight of the aisle, even upon the wreckage, was a wooden prosthetic waiting to be retrieved for just once more. "I'd been looking for you for over a year.", a smile slid across my flawless face, and I'd picked the arm up onto my own fingers. It was a reminder of home, of my-Stella's- home. Popping the prosthetic into place, where the last one had lost itself. (For the Capitol had taken it when sending me back into the arena, I was a perfect replica of a girl whose last words were admitting her loyalty to her very own killer.)
The sound of churning gears came from my chest, the steam that leaked and raised into the sky was the cause of an overheating. No- it was the fire that burned deep in my chest, and I was still alive, Stella Summit is still alive and she is me. I am Stella Summit, not a remake of her, the remake died long ago, at the hands of Kiena Ward, and I'd lived on like I rightfully should've. The only thing that didn't make sense though was why I was left here, and she got to go home? ("I want to go home! I want to go back to my room, (for once) I want to go back to my family.") There was a difference in unspoken words, something that differed the real from the fake- to Stella, she didn't have family.
Feet clicking and gears churning endlessly, I found myself wandering around the arena, for seemingly eternity. The prosthetic I now once again possess is un moving, un responding. ("We're going to give you this arm, it only works for you, but not her.") Moving along the Powerline Forest, I come across a place far too similar. A note left on the ground, I picked it up and opened it, allowing my eyes to read over the words that laid upon the page. It was Sue's handwriting, and I reminisce of the moment I- Stella- had held it out in the fight against the Doppels, begging for Kiena to choose the right one, though she was far too gone. I must've lost it on my way out, while DoppelKiena carried DoppelStella out, her body was failing and the coding was corrupt, it's a shame the Capitol hadn't made their DoppelStella better. "Where's Kiena? I've been looking for her for over a year."
A kiss planted upon Sue Tate's lips, and the words "sleep" whispered to a dying Rowan Combe. I'd been looking for them for over a year. It was a question that had haunted me in this forsaken place- ("Why did they leave me here alone?") I'd yet to come across anyone in my time spent wandering the surface of this damned place. Though, perhaps if I had, maybe I was too focused caught in a paradise where I'd crashed and burned in peace and serenity. "I just want to go home."
