Wilson Izar-Krane D11 (Done)

People are puppets held together with string. A puppet of an older boy sits across the room. The brown hair swept into a neat style to the side to ensure the puppet’s face can be seen. The blue eyes shining through the room looking for the master that ensured him that he’d be okay. The body of the puppet clearly was in rather good condition, like the puppet or master kept him nice and strong. Freckles add to the boyish face that the puppet held onto. Plush pink lips are sat on his face in a beautiful manner. The nose lines up in the middle for a perfect symmetry that adds a bit of a perfection to his looks. His small ears rest on the side of his head giving a look of a boyish man.

The puppet’s square jawline gives away to the boyish figure and outlines his face rather well. Large, toned arms on the puppet are being moved around in a manner of excitement. The large hands raising in a manner of saying hello. The puppet’s toned legs being moved in a manner of walking around somewhere. The clothes that are neatly put on the puppet are what would be the puppet’s casual clothing. A red t-shirt, plain blue jeans, tennis shoes, and a jacket of some sort. The puppet always wore some outfit like that every day. Only on a special occasion would he be caught wearing a button up shirt and slacks. The puppet’s large feet keep the whole body moving forward throughout the area.

The puppet moves throughout its life. Born to a beautiful family of four. A mother, a father, and an older brother. The puppet’s newborn eyes trying to watch everything going on. His strings holding him in place. His feet and arms being moved wildly without any control. An argument unfolds before the newborn and brother. The mother and father quickly getting louder and louder. The puppet’s cries come out and the older brother’s arms quickly go to hold on to the newborn. A rocking motion of sorts as the noise got louder and louder. A soothing voice calms the puppet, ”Hey, buddy, It’s okay. They fight a lot. You’ll get used to it soon enough. Mommy and daddy haven’t decided your name. I like Wilson, but mommy says she gets to name you since daddy named me.” The newborn puppet just calms down immediately after hearing the older brother speak.

The fight was over and the damage was done. The puppets father taking the baby away from the calming older boy. A broken cry comes from the puppet, but is soon soothed away by his father. A puppet now lost in the world with his father. Alone together with only each other to hold onto for dear life. The first few years of the puppet’s life are hardships as the father he had didn’t know how to raise a child on his own. Trial and error happened every day for the father. Sickness and hardships were faced by the father and child. The father learned that impatience in a child is just the start of everything. Curiosity was the next stage that the puppet went through.
”Daddy, all of the other children in daycare have a mommy. Where’s my mommy?” The puppet’s father gulps down a word that sits stuck in his throat. Curiosity kills ad right then curiosity was taking the father into a conversation he didn’t want to talk about. His father just hummed and quietly said, ”I’ll tell you when you’re older, buddy? Sound like a deal? How about we go get you some sweets?” The little puppet boy nodded and the two were off to get sweets. The boy happily forgetting about the mother he didn’t have with him.

Quite a few years later, the little puppet boy was of age to be told about his mother. His father sat him down and had a long talk about why he left and what happened and who they were. The little puppet boy took it all in and told his dad, ”Dad, I want to see them. Please?” The father’s mind processed the question and nodded his head to his son. An address was said into the quiet room. Wilson’s feet pounding against the floor as the boy walked to the house that held his other half of family.

A woman who was clearly injured was walking around the yard doing some gardening. The beautiful blonde woman showing a striking resemblance to himself. That was his mother who seemed to be a kind woman. His father had called her a woman of extraordinary kindness. An older boy calls out to his mother from inside and brings out a trowel and begins helping her with her garden. The brother that he doesn’t remember he had. Father had told him that he had a sibling. The older brother reminded him of his father in the looks. The puppet boy wants to go up and greet his older brother and mother, but a thread of fear is sewn into him. A fear of what would happen if the boy went to his mother and brother. The mother’s pleasant voice calls out to the older son, ”Levi, can you hand me that basket?”

Levi, his older brother, hands his mother a basket that she fills with all sorts of herbs and spices. The puppet boy silently watches as she whispers something to Levi and then they both turn towards the puppet boy. Wilson felt the fear stick to him. Levi stood in front of him with the basket. A small smile on his face and his calming voice speaks out like Wilson can remember, ”Ma said you looked hungry. I thought that we should give you some herbs and spices. It’s the only things we grow here. Take it and bring it home to your family.” Wilson was struck with awe. His own older brother had no idea who he was. His mother didn’t even know who he was. Wilson took the basket and stared at it intensely, until he handed it back to Levi and bolted. Wilson didn’t visit until years later.

The last encounter he had with Levi before the fate day was actually the day before the reaping. The puppet boy sat in the district square contemplating about the next day. Reapings weren’t Wilson’s favorite thing. They showed how everyone was being manipulated like puppets on strings. Wilson was sitting on a bench in front of a bakery when he saw the blonde hair that he’d know from miles away. Levi Izar-Krane. His own older brother. The older brother walked into the bakery looking around it for a long while. Wilson wanted to go up to him and tell him. A brotherly bond could be formed between the two, but the thread of fear still was sewn into his chest. A fear that overcame any movement or initiation of telling Levi. The older brother quietly snuck out of the bakery. Something in his pocket. A loaf of bread sits quietly and hidden in the older brother’s pocket. Wilson’s eyes widen and then Levi winked at Wilson to tell him to be quiet. Wilson just sat in awe as his brother became even more of a complex person.

The reaping was horrible. Wilson watched as Levi volunteered his life to save some poor kid. Wilson wanted to see him and tell him about how the family split. Wilson stuck to the shadows though and watched as his father began to break. His father sat at the kitchen table arms crossed praying to a god that he didn’t even believe in. Wilson felt his chest twist with a stabbing pain. The only brother he has was going to be fighting for his life. Broken dreams filled the puppet with a sadness that wasn’t actually there yet.

Bloodbath had happened and Levi was doing fairly well. Only a few scratches from what Wilson could see. That’s until Ellexias came in and killed the only brother he had. A sadness runs through him as his brother falls to the ground dead. Eyes of a dull blue and the life in them vanishing as Wilson pushed his way home. The alcohol being on a shelf that he could reach. His father already asleep from crying so hard. Wilson takes one swig, two, three, four… until he feels himself drowning in his sorrow.

Wilson had taken a visit to the house that Levi once had lived in. The emptiness that had appeared felt like it was tearing him piece from piece. A love that Wilson never thought he had was there. A love that would allow him to hold on to life. A sorrow fills him as he enters the empty house. The only sound that can be heard is a woman’s cries that fills the whole house. Wilson watches as his mother is lying in bed sick. The woman must have been ill for a while. Evidence of this from the medical supplies that litter the room. His mother spoke, ”Wilson, is that you?” Wilson feels the tears coming to his face. His mother strokes hi face softly with a hand. She speaks again, ”Dry your tears boy. No crying as long as your dear mom is here. I wanted to ask why you haven’t come back since the first time you have come here.”

Wilson took a deep breath and said, ”Ma. I tried I really did. But, I was too scared. I was too scared of you two not wanting me to come here.” The mother just laughed at him. A sign of happiness was good news for them bother. It eased the tension that was in the room. His mother spoke, ”You really thought we didn’t want you. It was the opposite of that my dear son. We waited here for you to find us. We had been waiting for you. Unfortunately, you are late. Let me tell you a story, young one. When you were taken away from us. Did you know what Levi would do? He would sit by the window, and wait. He’d wait for you to come home. He was small then, like real small, but he sat there waiting for you. Do you know how you came about the name Wilson? It was Levi’s name that he picked. The boy spent days looking for a name for you. That boy was a very determined boy. He sat for weeks on end waiting for you. If you believed we wouldn’t accept you, then you were dead wrong. We waited for you and I’m happy you finally came.” Tears poured off the woman’s face. Wilson hugged the woman who was his mom. The sickness was too much for her. That night would be the night Wilson got the thread of guilt sewn to his heart.

The sorrow of a lost brother was drowning him. The alcohol stopped after the talk with his mother. His father became the best dad that he could be. Wilson may be a puppet, but there were no strings attached to him. The puppet was free to do as he pleased. A sadness still runs through him, but the boy is holding on. Holding on to the hope that his family once held. That’s when life began to take a full start for him.

”Dad, I got the job.” Wilson said to his father who was ignoring him for his drink. The gather quietly fell asleep and Wilson just sighed in a upset manner. There were no strings attached to him. Wilson was free. Tears slipped down his face as the strings were always there. A boy on strings for the world to hold to their own will. People are puppets made with string. The string holding them all together to hold onto the world. The strings held everything together, so the emotions inside wouldn’t be released, but Wilson, his strings were messed up. Everything was on the outside.

A woman at the bakery sits and watches Wilson. The boy silently holding himself together to watch the bakery like he used to do. The smells always cheered him up. The woman who sat in the bakery watched Wilson with invading eyes. She smiled and Wilson smiled back to the best of his abilities. The woman called Wilson over and the boy silently crept to the woman and sat down. Her voice was calming and she spoke, ”You look upset, how about I buy you something from here?” Wilson shook his head no and the woman just frowned and bought a cinnamon type of bread. Wilson quietly ate the delicious bread. The woman smiled and Wilson smiled back in a forced way. The woman spoke for the final time before getting up, ”I dunno what’s going on in your life, but I for one think you should give a real smile. They look better and would make a handsome young man like you happy. Just keep smiling boy. I hope everything will be better.” Sorry lady, but happiness doesn’t go well with a broken man.
