The small girl, just small enough to pass for twelve sits outside one of the shops in town. A sad, solemn face graced with dirt and her hair stringy against her face peers at the doorway waiting. However, her lips curl upward. Her fingers dig into the ground beneath her as she mumbles numbers and counts and recounts to ten. The doorway stays vacant though, and her patience runs thin as she lays her head backwards and against the wooded slats of the building. "Come on. There's always so..." Footsteps! Once again, she molds her face to be sad and solemn, and her eyes evoke an emotion of hunger and fear when the man comes out carrying a bag, full to the top, with goods she could only dream of. "Sir..." She begins, letting her voice crack among the stirring silence of the morning hours. He stops, looking down at her. "Not today, you little swindler. I've seen you around before. I've barely got enough to feed my own family let alone your mouth as well. Go on. Get." He proclaims, kicking up his boot against the dirt covered path, spraying her with the brown segments. A hand goes up instantly to shield herself from the horrid attack, leaving behind a vengful stare at the man's backside. "F... you old man. I don't need your food anyways." Her whispers are venomous as she stands and dusts herself off with a long sigh. "Rough morning..." |  |
