She had heard the rumors about who exactly had broken in her house. Burglars, thieves, crazy people, but only one stuck out; only one made sense.
"It was Dustyn Chase," Florence said. "Him and that Juliet girl. I heard them talking about it between fourth and fifth period."
Memories of her lips on Dustyn's, of hearing his laugh and his words slurred by alcohol invaded her mind. She thought perhaps he had wanted her at long last, and she had been wrong, and punishment was a must.
He ended up leaving before anyone could see that she'd stripped him of his clothes, which sucked, because he still acted as if they all saw. He broke into her house, for Ripred's sake.
It all seemed so petty and stupid now. A bit ridiculous, actually. Mostly, she missed him and now she knew for sure he would never come back.
She sat her tray down next to Juliet's.
"I know it was you and Dustyn who broke into my house that night." She waited a moment. "I'm not mad, though. I kind of... I deserved it."
