Mitchell Laws D12 (Done!Re-sub)

Sweat drips down this man's forehead. A chase had begun minutes ago. Brown hair that usually was styled up stuck to his sweaty forehead. Blue eyes that had seen enough evils in a lifetime are looking around for an escape. A mustache of brown hair sticks to his lips, as his plump lips are being bitten into as he runs. Stubble lines his round jaw as wind brushes the hairs like a field of wheat. Ears stuck to the side of his head, grow red as the wind hits it. Perfect white teeth shine as the man stops biting his lips and smiles. An escape route was found and his blue eyes shine in happiness.

Hidden behind a building. The door opened and the boy made it into the house. Out of breath and out of time. Home was his safe haven. People would forget the act in a few days. The man quickly reaches his room, the white shirt feels wet with sweat. A normal shirt for him to wear on a normal day. His strong arms strip the shirt off of his toned chest. The jeans are ripped at the knew from a fall that couldn't be avoided. The typical outfit that belonged to the man. Mitchell strips himself of the outfit to shower. His muscular legs now exposed to the air. Large hands pushes through his brown locks of hair. Large feet step into the shower as the warm water cleans the man of the sweat.

Father and Mother were setting the table by the time the eldest Laws boy had appeared from his room. A white shirt that fits tightly to his chest and a pair of sweatpants. Dinner was a loud time. Siblings lined the table waiting for dinner to be served. The house felt packed with children. His father had a bit of a problem. Money was something that the Laws family had. A big house, a whole mine, a ton of kids, and no financial problems. A rare occurrence for a District 12 family, but his parents were very knowledgeable in District twelve's line of work.

The dinning room table alone could hold at least ten more children. Mitchell was the oldest of them. A legitimate child coming from both of his parents. Adoption was normal in the Laws house. Multiple hyphenated names stuck in their house. The next oldest sibling was a hyphenated name. Jack. A boy when they first met, and now a man who could do what he wanted. The eldest Laws boy had saved him from death. A smile itches its way onto his face. A memory of that night pops into his head.

Smoke filled the air. Flames reaching along a house turning the brown to black. A young boy heading home from the district square. The fire was just a freak accident from the mines. The flames engulfing the house from the outside. A scream comes from the house. A boy's scream. The Laws boy's ears perk up at the noise. Someone was screaming for help. His feet were already moving. The heat was almost unbearable. A scream from the boy can be heard again. The Laws boy found the owner of the scream. A boy lays on the floor, eyes of blue staring back at the eldest Laws' boy's blue eyes. The air was thick with smoke. Lungs began to fill with the ash in the air. The Laws boy lifted the boy to his feet and wrapped his arm around his waist and pulled him to an exit. The house began to crumble above them. They locked eyes as the older of the two jumped out of the house.

The building was crumbled. A pile of rubble burning right next to the two boys who made it out. A smile forms on the older of the two. Mitchell speaks to the younger boy, "Sorry about your house." The younger boy doesn't respond, but hugs the older one with his little arms. Tears pour down the younger one's face. Mitchell just wraps up the younger one in his arms and cries with him. The older boy felt terrible for the younger boy. The younger boy lost his home and personal belongings. Tears came out his eyes as he thought of losing everything he owned. The two boys stood outside of the burning rubble crying. They had each other and that's all they needed for now.

The dining room table was full of all sorts of different foods. The smells made the eldest Laws boy hungry for once. His siblings all already tearing into the food. It was grab some or starve rules. Mitchell's strong arms reach for a multitude of foods. A thing that Mitchell loved was food. The boy could eat stuff all day and night, though he would have to work it all off later. His younger brother, Carter Laws, always worked out with him, but in different ways. Carter liked to run more than Mitchell did, but they still both did the same things. The two bonded over tons of things. When the two were little they used to play childish games. Mitchell loved his younger siblings like his life depended on it. They are his siblings and he needed to care for them with all that could, but recently that all changed.

The mirror reflected the image back to the man's eyes. The scars were visible. The red markings of a whip line his back. That day was supposed to go like any normal day. A theft with Jack where they could get rich quick. Mitchell came up with the plan. A distraction and then a quick sleight of hand. Jack was talking to the clerk, as Mitchell grabbed a valuable golden watch. The man was too smart though. The oldest Laws boy was caught. Jack was nowhere to be seen. It caused him to get punished by a Peacekeeper. A few lashings on his back for what he did. The scars will always be there for people to stare at if his shirt moves just a little bit. Mitchell was furious with Jack after that. The eldest Laws only could depend on himself now. The man turned his back on Jack and avoids running the little innocence that Carter had.

Sleep felt amazing for that night. The fire haunting his dreams. The sound of a building crumbling. Carter and Jack being stuck under the rubble. A scream of pain coming out of his mouth. The flames engulfing his brothers that he cared about the most. A nightmare that haunts him. Mitchell jumps awake. A scream on the edge of his lips. Sweat trickles down his forehead. The man gets up and takes a cold shower to wake himself up.

The daily routine is just muscle memory. Breakfast with the siblings. School for the day. Workout at home. Then it was the best part. The district square was lively. People were everywhere. It was the perfect place for Mitchell to find something to steal. They may be rich, but this was fun for Mitchell. Almost a way for Mitchell to get a high in life. A smirk lays itself on his face. Eyes scan the crowd for someone who would be worth stealing from. A woman with a ring on her finger. It's a jewel of some sort and Mitchell wants it.

It's simple. His feet move towards the woman. A fake smile on his rather handsome face. He speaks, "I'm sorry for bothering you ma'am. I just wanted to say, you're a gorgeous woamn." The woman blushes at his comment. The smile on his face grows. His hand goes to shake the woman's, but he pulls it to his lips. A kiss to seal the deal. Then the hand goes down. He slips the ring off with ease. The woman is blushing too deeply to notice. Mitchell speaks flirty words, "I must leave now, after all I am a busy man. Maybe one day we'll meet again." And with the ring and final goodbye, the boy disappears behind a building.

The sweat falls from his forehead. The ring fits perfectly next to his hope ring that his mother gave him. The hope ring was a gift after his baby sister passed away. A gift meant to give him hope, but Mitchell knew, it was useless to hope, you had to take. That's the only way for a person to live. Taking things by force. Hoping only gets the weak minded to feel strong. Taking makes the strong even more stronger. Mitchell was strong and independent and that's the way he liked it. Only the strong can take and Mitchell was strong and smart. The eldest of the Laws boys was in charge of his own life. The eldest Laws boy could only rely on himself in everything. It was him, himself, and he, no one else was allowed to tell him otherwise. Only I can rely on myself.
