This is not good. Not good AT ALL.

Here I was, swimming through the open waters, stabbed in the guts, cut in the leg, and bleeding my ears out. I was pretty sure there were sharks here (or worse), and my blood seeping out into the open water; quite the invitation for a hungry predator.

And I wasn't alone.

Barely a day of recovery from the Bloodbath and I was surrounded by others like me: injured, dazed, wary, locked and loaded. For a moment I patted myself on the back for taking that First Aid station; othewise I would've died from the bleeding. I had tied my clothes tighter around my waist and leg to stem the bleeding, and it had stopped considerably.

Slowly, but surely, and all the while keen on my surroundings, I waded my way to Island Two as I looked behind me, nothing remaning of Cornucopia.

That's what was going through my mind as we swam towards the island.

They were bound to be here somewhere, the Gamemakers would have to be idiots not to use them.

Attempting to take my mind off the seemingly, now that I thought about it, inevitable shark attack, I thought about my ear.

It didn't help.

And it hurt, so, so, much right now.

Especially with that evil salt water stinging at the exposed, raw flesh.

Aftger I slowly wade through the bloody waters I finally see Sami. She is swimming slowly so I can tell she is hurt. I swim gaster to her, and when I get to her I put her arm around my shoulder and help with all my might, but it isn't helping much. Soon, I see someone else from my alliance, Zanne. I help Sami onto the beach and go back into the water for Zanne, although I was tired from running away from the blood bath, I needed these people fot my own survival. I drag Zannae out of the water and fall on the ground. "You guys, are so paying me nack for this."

Blood. It was everywhere, all around, permeating the water from every direction. And it was driving her crazy. An area near her, specifically, smelled, tasted, radiated blood. So the armored shark did what sharks do best: she followed it. And oh boy did she find a feast.

Several oddly-shaped things--they must have been land mammals, as they resembled no fish she'd ever seen--thrashed around mere yards in front of her, thoroughly wounded and seeping blood. And did it smell good.

With so many morsels abound, lost in her natural habitat, how could she choose just one? She eventually settled on one that seemed to be pouring blood from an orifice in their head. Not too damaged, but impaired enough for an easier kill.

She thought she'd been desensitized to it, but just as she had gotten used to it. BAM the Gamemakers threw in another pain to take her out.

But Sami Hawkings wasn't going down without a fight.

EDIT: Scratch that. There's gonna be a three post limit in between shark attacks. We need to get this show on the road. So have one more member of your alliance post and then I'll attack again.

I see the sharks fin right as I get in Zanne out of the water. I lay him on the ground and grabs Sami's snorkle and mask, and dive back into the bloddy water. The next thing I know I am hitting the shark on gils hoping I do some damage.

Pain. She was so delighted by the wound she had inflicted on the being she'd just attacked that she was not prepared for the pain she felt when a sharp, pointy object lodged itself into her left pectoral fin. Pain was foreign for her. Nothing in the ocean attacked a Maneater. Who did these creatures think they were, shooting things at her?

This only made her more angry, though. She ripped the object out of her fin with her teeth and turned back to her targets, who were cowering in fear at the sight of her. She was angry now, and the anger replaced the pain. She was hungry as well, and the smell of blood was driving her crazy.

She swam in a circle around the pack, her eyes trained on the one she'd hurt before, the one who'd sent the pointy thing into her fin. It was true, what they said about armored sharks; once they found a potential meal, they never left it alone.

So she lunged again.

I cussed as my arrow missed, floating there harmlessly in the water. The adrenaline ((however you spell that XP)) bleached out the pain, so I dove back in to get a better shot. The waves lapped towards the shore (thank goodness), so I scooped up my arrow and shot it again at that stupid shark.

Everything is red, I know that everything is not red. The water is though. The blood is fresh, the sharks blood I suspect. The mask is slipping from my face and fogging up. I take it off and wash it in the water, then but it back on. The waves are pushing me ashore so I stand up in the sand, and dive back into the water. I swim back to the shark and hit it again.

The strange land-mammals seemed to be doing a very poor job of attacking the armored shark. She knew she had the advantage over them, for certain, given that she was bigger, she had armor, and they were in her natural habitat. Even if there were more of them, it made sense that she would destroy.

Because that's just what she did. That's how they all did, all of her kind--the few that there were--they ruled the water. No one crossed them. And it was better that way. Sure, she'd initiated the attack--that's what maneaters did when they were hungry (or bored, for that matter.)

And though the prey turned out to be less-than-capable of standing up to her, Ariadne still had fun in the attack. What wasn't fun about sinking your sharp teeth--especially if you had lots of 'em--into fleshy land-mammals? So Ariadne attacked again, a different one--because when you had all these great meals, why would you pass them up? She wanted to get a taste of everybody. And then finish them off.
