Since stepping into this Capitol training centre, I haven’t made any enemies…yet, which makes a real change.I relish in the fear that I seem to be putting the lower Districts in, they all step out of my way  as if I am going to burn them down with one look. Really they must all think too highly of me, I’ll do much more than that…burning a body just disposes of the evidence and well I want to show Panem the masterpieces that I shall make from their pathetic bodies. However I still don’t understand why the other careers haven’t had a whack at sassing me down.

At home I have enemies in the training centre, it must be because we’re all from the same place and we’ve all known each other for so long. Is it possible to make enemies in such a short amount of time? I should test it.

Although not with this one, this one has her uses and being my enemy is not useful.

Handing her over the rope, I’d watch the blonde District Ten girl do her work with it. I have always admired the District Tens, they do have the prettiest victor male, they are lucky. Leon Krigel has nothing on Mace Emberstatt appearance wise. This girls District partner also reaches my male criteria; it must be something in their genes.

"You'll need a tie a honda." Glaring at her blankly, her words would be all of an unknown language to me however her actions were more understandable as I watch her tie the knot.

”Yes, now let me have a go.” Snatching the rope from her, I’d copy the tying movement that she had demonstrated. ”Have I got it?”

Watching the rope fly above the girl’s head, it’s as though I am watching a true natural perform a piece of art, such a simple thing…but useful. I’ve never seen District Ten’s use it in the past games and if I do get my hand on a rope, I am sure the viewers will be shocked to see a Four performing such an act.

That’s what I am here for…to entertain…

This girl doesn’t know it but she is helping me get one step ahead of the game. I’ll give such thrill to the viewers that the sponsourship will be flooding in left right and centre. There is no way of thanking her…maybe I could make sure she has a painless quick death and allow her family to have her body whole…

Taking the rope from her, I’d perform the honda knot with my fingers, preparing to copy the motion she had shown me. Wrapping my fingers around the rope, it sits perfectly in my palm as I lock my fingers tightly.

Having my right hand on the knot and the left at the bottom, I’d try to imitate what she just demonstrated. Raising my arm in the air, I’d begin to build speed with the spinning hoping to make the loop soar like she did…abruptly failing at first. However I am not the one show myself up and I’d continue to push the momentum forwards needed to make it loop in the air.

Glancing up at the rope as it flies above my head, I’d move my eyes to the blonde girl, hoping for approval. ”Have I mastered it yet?” Gritting my teeth as I spoke, I continued to try and spin the loop in the air, wanting to release it and catch something within its grip.

Continuing to swing the rope around the air above me, I can feel the power hitting my head. It’s like the wind playing with my hair as it blows slightly out of place. It reminds me of the sea breeze at home…however less salty.

I haven’t really been outside often since arriving at the Capitol, ever so slowly I am becoming more claustrophobic in these buildings, hopefully the arena they have planned for us is spacious, a large playground for me to have my fun in…

"Yes, keep it going!"

It’s amazing how quickly I have picked this technique up, I actually thought it was something difficult to learn, I actually thought the District Tens were skilful…obviously I was wrong. Obviously they’re the plaid wearing, cow stinking hillbillies that everyone seems to call them. However I am unable to pick up the fragrance of animal shit from this girl…the Capitol must’ve done a good job at hiding it. Although the air in this room is stuffy, capable of staining the nostrils permanently with the aroma of sweaty testosterone filled boys…however that is a scent that I have grown used to over time….

"Use me as a target." The girl must have been reading my mind. Gritting my teeth, a grin would sail across my face as my eyes pierce towards the girl’s, eager to catch my first prey.

Twirling the rope with my wrist above my head, I’d flick it forwards, releasing it from my grip as I do. Watching the loop fly towards my standing target, it would drop down around the blonde girl. Pulling the rope with my left hand, it would tighten around the girl’s knees as it lands. Smirking, I’d be pleased with my efforts.

Watching her stumble backwards, the smirk would form more into a grin, my white ivories fully revealing themselves to the world through my lips. As the rope sails back towards me, I’d step out the way; thinking that I must have brewed up a storm with the girl. After all eventually we will end up having to kill each other and well…being all lovey dovey together won’t help either side.

Just like back at home, I created rivalries with the other careers after all training is a sport and we’re trying to make ourselves shine through from the rest. Being hidden amongst the vast numbers of careers isn’t going to help anyone get anywhere. Which is exactly the same as in this centre right here, right now.

Although it seems I am still on good terms with the girl from Ten. Smiling at her compliment, I’d pick up the rope, twiddling with it between my fingers. Of course I am a natural, love. However it is odd that she didn’t fuss with me nearly breaking her legs with the rope…maybe she doesn’t want to get on the wrong side of me.

"You know, you can do even more damage if you get it around someone's neck." Again it seems the girl is reading my mind, I must keep my thoughts silent when around her. ”Of course…wait until the arena...” Oh how I wish I could just pick a few out right now, it’ll make life a lot easier for some of us.

”Is there anything you need help with?” What is happening, Hettie Cheyne offering assistance? Although I have time to kill and having a partner whilst training myself sounds good to me…I’m missing out on human company and this girl seems decent enough.

"If you win, don't let my sister get hurt. Please?" So the girl has some hopes on me winning, good for her, I do hope she is a betting person…oh wait. A soft laugh would roll from my mouth after her question as I hear it play out on repeat in my head.

Does she expect me to trail over to District Ten, if I win, during the victory tour to adopt her sister? How does she propose I protect her anyway? If she gets reaped, I can’t volunteer for her, it’s impossible to do and whatever she does in the arena is up to her.

”Fine.” A bland comment but a lie, how will she know if I will make sure her sister is safe or not if she is dead? ”If a miracle comes and swipes you up…and you somehow win. Make sure my little brother is ok...”Scratching my cheek, my tone would be casual, not wanting to march down the emotional route. I’ve never been down that road and I am sure it is eroded anyway…

I don’t know if this is the girl I want to look after my brother but if she trusts me to keep her sister safe she must be worthy of something.

My brother is worth something, he is worth a lot more than me and if the world loses him, it will know about it.
