Whiskey lullaby [gaby/ems]

The first day of the Olympics was a success in his eyes, and Odysseus couldn't wait to get out and celebrate his success. But it was a bittersweet moment. It took every ounce of strength remaining inside his giant body to not break down sobbing. Mason and Orion should've had the chance to come participate in the Olympic games, but the hunger games stole them away. One was reaped, and the other volunteered, and Odysseus struggled to forgive Orion for throwing his life away. Yet he couldn't hold a grudge, or keep the anger bubbling inside because he threw his own life away. But that wasn't why he was here. Odysseus yearned for a chance to redeem himself in the eyes of his family, and perhaps find a reason to live.

A soft sigh fell from his lips as he walked through the crowded village. Constant chatter roared through his ears with every step. People chatting among themselves about nothing in particular. For a while Odysseus just stood still trying to listen on, but he quickly realized the gossip wasn't worth his time and moved on.

Music blasted through the doors of the open bar on the corner of the street. It immediately caught his attention making the eighteen year old freeze. Normally, he wouldn't go into a bar, but his day was a cause for a celebration, yet he had to be careful because one wrong move could land him back into the middle of the detention center inside a cell he was too tall for.

All the tables were taken as far his eyes could see, but after walking through, he found one that was open. His mind fought a battle with itself trying to gather the information between right and wrong. But this was the Olympics, and he couldn't push himself away from experiencing all district four had to offer.

But on the other hand, it was a simple task to just walk out of the bar and pretend like nothing had ever happened, but Odysseus wanted to celebrate. He wanted to move forward. He worked hard today, and he needed something to reward himself with.

So instead of leaving, he walked over to the one open table, claiming it as his own. And that was when his eyes landed on a girl who obviously had no idea what she was doing, and probably hadn't been into a bar before. A soft smile twisted across his face as he strutted towards her. "You look like you could use help." He muttered quietly behind her. "Is there anything I could assist you with? I've heard the drinks district four make are worth dying for."

Whispers buzzed through his ears as his eyes locked on the girl standing in front of him. It didn't matter that people were gathered around celebrating the festivities district four was putting on. All Odysseus cared about was sitting down and having a drink to celebrate his round one victories in the fencing challenge. But her lips were sealed, and his desire to find someone to enjoy a night of drinking with was slowly blowing away. Looking into her eyes, he knew she wasn't comfortable, and it made him want to turn around and walk away. But who wouldn't be comfortable near a guy who towers over most of the people standing inside the bar?

He hated his height most of the time. It made for terrible time especially when fighting because he had more targets for people to aim at, and when he fell, the ground was harder than he imagined. But he was who he was, and nobody could change it. He was Odysseus Hammerfell-Alezander, yet he wasn't worthy of carrying only the Hammerfell last name. He was only half a name, and sometimes the weight was too much to carry.

"Thank you, but I have a drink already."

He felt his heart sink into the black hole growing larger inside his stomach. All his attempts of trying to make a friend flew away in the blink of an eye. Was it worth his time to keep trying when nobody wanted to be around him? It was as though he had the word criminal tattooed on his forehead, but the word wasn't there. A mistake has turned him away from everything he thought was right. A mistake has turned him into the worlds most wanted man, and every single person pushed him away.

"But... I could actually use some good company, because it's rather boring to sit here alone..."

The corners of his lips twisted into a grin, and soon he flashed his teeth for anyone nearby to see. At least he wouldn't drink alone. But before he could say a word, the girl spoke once more -

"Do you mind joining me for the evening?" Odysseus watched the smile twist across her face, and he hoped it they could chat over a drink without any worry in the world. But he wasn't sure. His smile went away, and he turned around looking at the table he claimed for himself.

"Yeah, I can join you. I have a table already. It's over there." He pointed towards the one empty table with his drink waiting for him. With a shrug of his shoulders, he strutted towards his table before sitting down. It wasn't the gentleman thing to do, but he wasn't on a date, and the formalities didn't apply.
