Day 3 - The Cornucopia's Demise

The arena has been unusually quiet overnight. Sensitive tributes near the Cornucopia may have felt the earth shift once or twice, although something tunneled beneath them. The sunrise is soft and slow, clearly designed by an artist. It’s so beautiful, you might forget you’re in an arena.

When the first ray of sunshine hits the cornucopia, the twenty four booby-trapped plates simultaneously explode, obliterating the log cabin. Any tributes in the area will roll for damage: 2 x [*roll range="1-5"] and will be redistributed as the Gamemakers see fit. In the dazzlement of the explosion, many tributes may fail to hear the angry buzzing rising from the foundation of the log cabin, but it’s more difficult to miss the cloud of disturbed tracker jackers which rise from the ashes.

For a moment, they blot out the sun. Then, they disappear.
