She collects souvenirs from everything she conquers. They're all stored away in her ship in cabinets overflowing with loot from riches like jewelry to insignificant finds like ballpoint pens. She steals for money, but her souvenirs aren't about riches. They are of sentimental value, no matter how shiny or dull. Pyria can touch each one and remember the night she stole it, can trace her mind over the memory of the heist.

If she and her twin sister weren't orphaned when they were young, she knows deep down that she would still be a scoundrel. Pyria Azael is a thief, a liar, a cheater, and a pirate because she wants to be.

She and her sister were left at an orphanage when they were young, dropped off by their mother. Pyria doesn't think about her much; her lineage is an irrelevant detail when her mind is occupied by how the next heist will play out. Some of the other children at the orphanage were former street rats, and they'd play games with the Azael twins, teaching them how to get away with whatever mischief they wanted. It was a sport, at first, until they realized that no one was ever going to adopt them and that they could make something else out of themselves.

The orphanage caretaker taught each of their lost children seafaring; it is a necessary skill considering District Four's industry. Once the Azael twins were old enough to know that they'd rot there if they stayed any longer, they ran away from the orphanage and began their life in crime.

It's been crime and rough waters ever since.
