My son! You know both my name and my story, and I'll be ya tutor in this session.

Of these two evils, we're starting off with baiting Muse like the matadors we are. Both a blessing and a curse, without muse there's no writing to be done, no characters being made and no tutor posts being typed up on sick days. Practically every writer out there has had their fair share of fist fights with this thing, so it's important to know how to conquer it, or when to pack up and run.

The most important thing to note is that muse isn't always your friend, and, while writing daily is a good thing to practice, forcing yourself to write and hating the outcome has nothing but negative outcomes. If muse is that bull we're waving our red flag in front of, if it goes and hospitalizing you, nobody in their right state would immediately jump back in the arena the next day for round two. Take this post as your one-week writing notice if you need; sometimes the best way to recover from a burn out is just taking the time off.

Now, with my doctor cap off, let's talk about some quick fixes for making muse work for you.  

Easiest method is by listening to something nice - either something lo-fi or something ambient - and placing yourself in the emotions. Anyway that delves you further into the words you're writing will help you become more interested in what you're detailing; being interested and having fun is the goal for making writing easy.  Another method is planning out what you're writing before hand, creating a blocked out timeline of what you're writing in a post so that it becomes less daunting to write. Breaking up that 1000 word post nagging at you into pre-planned parts makes the process of writing a lot less difficult.

As much as gathering muse is important, writing isn't going to be easy until it becomes fun to do. Scrap that stress of each post being perfect here, for this exercise I want you to focus on having fun with writing. Literally slap together 300ish words of something meme-y, exciting and most importantly something that entertained you to write. Some of my favorite threads recently have been this style - such as this mess between Briar and I - and, while they may not be masterpiece posts I'd show to a college board, they were fun and a laugh. 

So go forth! Slap something stupidly fun of one of your characters losing a bet or whatever, and most importantly having fun.

Snakes (the remix), the goal here is for us to make writing as easy as possible, or at least familiarize ourselves with how to trick muse into being our friend. Having fun is obviously the first most important rule- in which you did very well with! Your mutt scene flowed very nice and (hopefully) you found it easy to write, which brings us into the second muse-snaking rule:

Knowing what you're doing.

Or more so, knowing what you're writing going into it. Be it a 1000 word bio or a 100 word cb, having ideas of what you're writing before hand makes translating them into words possible. Of course, for threads this is anything between knowing how your character is going to react to being stabbed to even getting them there to begin with; if you have no idea what's going on, writing it is going to be even harder. Well, you say, how do we combat this then?

Girl, I say, let me tell you.

For this muse-rule of thumb, the trick is being inspired. Having fun is the back bone of any hobby, but being inspired is the meat, the flesh and those Marlon Teixeira facial features that gets you sweating and takes it to another level. Inspiration can come from literally anything, for example, I've written a good half of my posts after watching bad girls club episodes. Getting into those sets of feelings can help you think up a badass character idea, some fire dialogue roasts or a heart wrenching shipping thread.

Another low-fi day, with school kicking my ass and you getting voted out of survivor, we have some time to kill. Emotions that are easy for you to write, songs or sounds that get you into the mood to write; whatever it may be, things that just help writing natural for you.
