Just Another Drink {Cameo}

Lorenza, or as most people knew her by, Za-Za, had had enough of the stressful days and sleepless nights that didn't seem to be able to get themselves out of her life. In the morning, she'd go down to the kitchen for the breakfast that was made for her, only to remember that the empty seat across from her spot at the table would never be filled again. One of her brothers killed her other brother when they were having an argument that escalated to a full blown fight, and Lorenza had been there that day. She was supposed to be watching them, but wasn't, and ended up leaving her room to the horror of seeing one of her brothers on the floor, beaten and lifeless.

There wasn't just one empty seat, though. The seat of the killer was empty, too. He'd been sent off to live in a foster home for troubled children, so that he couldn't do something like that again to another person, even though it wasn't intentional. The boys certainly hadn't meant for their fight to go that far, and Lorenza certainly hadn't intended on allowing that to happen, either. It did happen, though, and the girl blamed herself. She told herself that she could have stopped it from happening, had she only been paying better attention to the boys when she was meant to be watching them. Now, it was too late.

At night, she'd have nightmares about the same scenario, and she couldn't change it. She couldn't change what happened, and she couldn't prevent the death of her own dear younger brother. She was helpless. Her efforts were futile. She wake up in the middle of the night with a tear-stained face and sweat-soaked bedsheets, due to how terrible this reoccurring nightmare was. Lorenza wondered if it would ever go away. Perhaps hanging out with those who called her 'Za-Za', which were her friends, would make it so she could forget about it. She'd tried it before and it hadn't helped, but maybe this time it would.

Za-Za had decided on going to a party with friends that night. She'd have a few beers and just forget it all. She didn't want to think about the terrors that had arose in her life since the fatal fight her brothers had. Therefore, she made her way to a party just a few streets away from her home, and met up with her friend, Luanna. They hung out with one another for a while at the party until Luanna realized the time, and decided to leave a bit early. That left Lorenza there with strangers, but she didn't mind. She was already quite tipsy, since she was on her second beer, and she was having fun. There was dancing and the usual party games like spin the bottle, which Za-Za participated in for a little while before going to take a seat on a couch in the living room. That made her realize she didn't even know whose home she was in, but she shook that off.

Sitting for a while and eventually making her way into her third beer, Za-Za waited to see if anyone would approach her for conversation. After all, a lot of people saw her as pretty. It wasn't uncommon for her to wear somewhat revealing clothing to a party, either. All in all, she thought of herself as rather 'approachable'.
