A Little Something For Your Pain {Marr | Blitz}

eaving the house in the morning wasn't usually a dangerous task. With the sidewalks being so slick with ice, however, it wasn't its usual safe trek going from Ilex's house to the shopping area in the District Square. Ilex had put on his coat, boots and gloves that morning, as it was quite cold, and headed out the door. He made sure to grab his wallet before he left, zipping it in the inside pocket of his coat, so as to make sure he wouldn't lose it in any situation that may pop up. No one would be able to steal if from him if it was there, either.

Venturing outside into the cold wasn't usually something that bothered Ilex. Today, however, the frigid air nipped at his face, and he had to walk slowly on the ice so as to prevent himself from falling. Making small strides as he ventured down the sidewalk was what kept him in his feet, and it worked for quite a while. He managed to do rather well on the frozen ground for a decent amount of time, too. As he got closer to the shopping area in the District Square, however, he stepped on ice that he couldn't see- black ice. Slipping on the ice, he fell to the ground an his arm twisted under him when he tried to catch himself. Surprisingly, he managed to prevent any tears from welling in his eyes when this happened.

The boy tried to lift himself off of the ground, but he couldn't. The arm that had crumpled underneath him, which was his right arm, wouldn't move without giving him excruciating pain. That was when he knew that it was broken. Unfortunately, Ilex couldn't lift himself up using his left arm, either, as he didn't quite have enough strength. Therefore, the boy lie there, clenching his jaw through the pain, hoping someone would come by to help him.
