You Have No Power Over Me // [Day 1.5 CL/CI/LA]

Falling through a trap door with Ivar in tow didn’t help out my most definitely broken ribs either. I would happily help Ivar, and Zanita for that matter through anything, I just wish that I wasn’t in so much pain. I wince as I take the hard landing, hoping that I am not doing more damage to myself. Ivar was able to handle to handle himself well in the Bloodbath, which he was proud of him for. Even though Ivar is an ally, he is quickly becoming a friend. They trained us that allies are are only temporary, not to get close with, yet I couldn’t help getting close with Zanita and Ivar. I know that we have to find Zanita, I feel like shit that we can’t be with her. Why would they separate us like that? We find to find her, losing her would like losing Spell or Charm. Yet when I get a bearing of my surroundings, I feel more lost than ever. Ivar stated as we were leaving that we needed to find Zanita, and I couldn’t agree more.

Zanita where are you?

My blue eyes get lost in a sea of too vibrant of colors and perverted shapes. Staircases are cascading from angles that shouldn’t be possible, the floors are checkered in an offset chess pattern, a chair sits on the wall next to me without being bolted in. I lift it up with ease and manage to put it back as if it was on the floor. Everything felt so wrong in this house, it is not natural. I see the same jarring visuals in canvases, where the colors aren’t right and the landscapes aren’t natural. The portraits seemed more fake than unnatural, as if they were intentionally putting up a facade. The portraits seemed to reflections of the insecurities of their artists, or maybe something more twisted in their heads, but it is not something that I would like to know. I can see Ivar admiring the pictures, so I manage to grab a smaller one of the wall and hide it in the folds of my fur coat.

That’s when I hear the anthem blare through the halls, echoing off of the marble, only amplifying the artificial noise of it all. Why is it happening now though, why not at the end of the night? Zanita was on the wall, blue and made of pixels instead of here with Ivar and me. I panicked and screamed, throwing my face through the wall, which surprisingly isn’t marble. Ivar lets a roar at my feet and I join in, tears streaking down my face as I know that she is gone. And he said those words that I didn’t want to hear.

“She’s dead, Curse. She’s dead.”

Yeah she is, I am shaking from the news. How can someone willingly kill with someone else with their bare hands, so early on. I know she wasn’t the only one but she’s the only one I actually gave a shit about. My face opposed my ally’s. His face is cold as he moves forward and my is hot as I tremble behind him. I’m fighting back my tears trying to clear my vision as we moved onwards, wandering throughout the unnatural environment. I feel like I have failed her, and I want revenge. I want to find the person who killed her and rip them limb from limb, making sure that they live in the pain that they caused us. The anger is the only thing that keeps me going right now. That and Ivar falling down the stairs. I reach down from him but I miss as he falls faster and faster.

We both curse as he finally stops at the landing. I stumble down the marble in these absurd heels, finally reaching him. He makes a comment about the stairs toying with us and I somehow manage a chuckle.

“Yeah buddy, yeah they are.”

Everything about this is wrong, this house, these clothes, this situation, all of it was wrong. Yet here I kneel looking down at Ivar, and I know that this is only the beginning of everything.

He is a tough guy though, so I know that he will be able to take a few hits here and there, but knowing that I wish that I knew how to help him out. Even though I am tempted to fight for Ivar, I know that he is strong enough to fend for himself, so I turn back to the girl I have been attacking, only to realize that it is a girl from home. Chaos, and her brother Lightning are here. I’m not sure on how they do it but they manage to climb into this hellhole together. I guess it is because it makes them feel stronger yet I know that I would be weaker if my sibling had joined me in this surrealist painting that they are trying to create.

She makes a smart ass comment about her getting started, though I saw the shock that painted her face when she killed the boy. I know that it wasn’t intentional and that she is just faking it right now. She then compares us to two sea creatures, having to hurt each other, and I can’t help but laugh as I turn my back towards her. This fight happening so fast yet I can see everything in almost perfect clarity. Crimson rivers flow from pale and broken earth as mountains start flying towards each other. Continents fall as new ones emerge, yet here I stand, fighting just to keep my ground as I laugh my ass off.

“Honey do you not remember my name?” I say to her in between laughs. “If I were ever to go out to the sea by myself I would probably curse the district due some stupid jinx. It is better that I am here really. Maybe I can turn my curse back onto others, so why not start with you.”

The statement rings in my ears as I swing my arm forward, hoping to make contact taht will hurt her enough to leave me alone.
