"Hallelujah J" was born Jeremy Alenko to an unremarkable family in District Three. He wasn't especially clever or talented or kind. What he had was drive.
He figured out what he wanted and managed to get it. He figured out the kingpins of the school fast and climbed his way up the social ladder until he was at the peak. Nobody in his social circle was particularly sure why they were fond of him- they knew that they should be, so they were. Once a social status quo is established, people are hesitant to break it.
