Matter can't be created or destroyed.

It can be rearranged or changed, but it can never be created or destroyed. It's the law of the universe that surrounds him in every second of his life. Lights flashing around him like the flickers of stars that burn with hydrogen and helium in the night sky. Music reaches the air as the sounds of teenagers dancing, drinking, and enjoying themselves rings in the air. Gravity becomes dense and everything is absorbed through him. The sound of the music moves across his rather small ears. Blue eyes look to the bodies of teens dancing, lights that flash in different colors, and the red cup that sits in his hand. A nose that's upturned just slightly can smell the musk scent of teenage hormones and sweat mixing into a concoction of a teenage party. The smell of alcohol sticks to his smooth skin. Large hands, smooth from the lack of training, touches the arm of some girl as he sneaks past her. A light brown hair glows in the different colored lights like stars in the night, but the messy style from sweating makes his skin flush.

A slim body that he uses to slip past party-goers is gently moving with his shallow breaths of tiredness. Long and lanky arms and legs help him escape the party where he can absorb every detail and feel like he's living an actual life. The night's air finds a gentle breeze that cools his skin with sweat that dries. Outside the party was his sister, blonde hair and blue eyed like himself, but she was more interested in the stars than anything else. Pandora was more of the career ideal than he was. More muscle than he could ever want on his body. Happy with the body that he was born with and had, he just smiles a small smile to his sister. A chart in her hand as she marks the twinkling light upon the paper.

"I was hoping that you'd actually join the party. I miss her too, but you shouldn't give up your life for her dreams."

All that she does is shake her head and continues to chart down the twinkling light that were just helium and hydrogen burning millions of miles away. His sister's gentle touch along the paper lets him know that it is what she wants to do, but the look in her eyes screams that she's still suffering from their mother's death. An illness that their mother couldn't handle over time as it overwhelmed her. A fighter at heart, but even the strongest couldn't beat cancer. All he does is let a sigh out as he grabs her shoulder in a way to let her know that he was there for her. Voice soft against the violet sky.

"I miss her too."

Footsteps along the concrete as he leaves his sister to her devices as it was pointless trying to stop her from completing their mother's dream. There's only one thing that he fears in the world. He's feared lots of things as a child, but nothing compared to this now. After mother passed, they've never been the same. He's only ever had Pandora. She's only ever had him. They were inseparable, especially when they had to lean on one another after their mother's death. One fear. One fear that would have to inevitably be fought would be when Pandora completes the charts. When she finishes the last bit of their mother that they had left in the world. The ending would create tears upon his beautiful sister's face. Stars would align on that day, or so help him, he might perish from seeing her in pain.

Home never felt like home anymore. A place where memories seem to hide in the wallpaper that covers the walls. Tears that threaten to shed behind closed doors that were once opened with joyful times. Broken glass from another cup that he smashed in the middle of another furious fit that comes and goes like the meteors in the sky. Father was never home to help them as they needed the money, but he can't help feeling like everything boiled down to breaking down. Emotions hide underneath his pale skin and blue eyes. A bundle of emotions that fills up in his mind until he explodes from the pressure. It's about his mother, his sister, his father, himself, and everything in between. He bottles up every thought because it's just better not to think about it.

The walls feel so hollow as he moves through the vast emptiness that reminds him of the black sky that is above. Alcohol is still upon his breath, but he slips away into the confines of his room. No light penetrates it like the black hole that he was. Light can't belong in a place so dark. Sleep takes him as he can vaguely feel arms pulling the covers over his body. Sleep was where he could feel whole once again. A place where even the dark and the light can dance together. That is until the light of morning sheds away his joyful sleep.

A sun with rays of bright light shining in through the window wakes him up. His head is banging from a little too much alcohol that still sits upon his breath with a nasty taste. Helium and hydrogen burn in order to make him get up and head out of the home after making himself decent enough for the place that he called a waste of time. The training center is where he takes his sister and they split ways for the day with a whisper of goodbye and to stay safe upon their lips like it might be the last time they see each other. I love you's given the light of day as he shuffles away with his hands in his pockets.

Instead of training, he spends his days learning of an art in handling customers in some old diner that only the world weary visit. Smiles upon his lips that don't feel real, but he still forces himself to feel like a human being on the outside, even if the inside was still breaking from the loss of their mother and loneliness of being surrounded. There were millions and millions of stars, but each of them were so far away just like himself. The diner was bustling at this time with peacekeepers who come in for a cup of joe and the regulars who just enjoyed having a meal before the start of their day. They wave for him with smiles and small words that he accepts kindly.

When the diner slows, he feels himself eating away at his thoughts. No one's been close to him anymore. Friends shoved away since his mother's passing. There's still times for appearances at parties where he can forget where he was. Friends disappear with his words that turn them away. He's not exactly outgoing enough to have any new ones either, but he's considered a black hole. He takes in the good from people and they see what's on the edge, until they get sucked into his sorrows, where they throw him away like he was a worn and used piece of clothing. All he can do is feel his heartbeat at the thought of being torn apart again, but he can hear his mother's words in his mind as he focuses back on work.

There's a light to every darkness.

The day continues like it normally does, until the sky turns violet.

Twinkling stars, swirling galaxies, and burning comets above.

Matter can't be destroyed or created.

It can be changed.

All he had to do was wish upon a star for that change.

He did.

Every night, he did.
