Saturn Hope-Less
Red rages against a clear canvas, cruelty cracks an untouched slab of stone. In an instant the fires of the devil's demands destroy the innocence of two scared small souls. Screams split an abandoned area derived from the depths of devastation. Tears tore against swollen skin and blood bursted from beneath its shell. An unaware world continued to care solely for its own selfish situations, not a single stare could be spared to stop the suffering of that night. The fearsome force of his fists almost feel all to real as Saturn stumbles from his bed surging in a struggle of fright against his sheets. Another dream drained of any kind of pristine positivity because of the man who once wore the name Father as a fraud.
Morning meanders through the slits of the silk curtains pouring over the stains of Saturn's skin. Scars small and significant stretch across him as though sewn in by the thread of sorrow's own needle. With the passing of time the physical pain has faded from the beatings leaving nothing but shallow reminders upon his surface. As for the emotional effects, to this day deep within the darkness of depression the ferocity of Saturn's Father fuels its core. Only within the delusions of drugs can he break away from the bounds of chains which force him towards the floor of some unending abyss. Saturn was shattered by his Father, now he lives in an unstable state still searching for anyway to rebind the shards together.
Water warps across Saturn's face as its cold kiss creeps over his sweat stained skin. Above the sink the mirror shows the same sulken face Saturn always sees, a face he sometimes wishes only belonged to his twin. Saturn casts his eyes away from the saddening sight and his fingers flick the faucet off, for now the depths of his dreams were at bay for another day... at least with some assistance. A pill pops into Saturn's mouth while a cup of water washes away the anti-depressant down into his system. Only a matter of moments before the mists of his mind can control the pain of his past.
In the crammed kitchen of his small standing home Saturn swiftly begins spilling spices and handling herbs in preparation for breakfast. Food flies within pans while flames flicker from the fire roasting the ingredients into perfection. An undeniably irresistible aroma slithers as though a snake through every inch of the house, summoning the sleeping souls from their slumber. Footsteps fill the room as plates are placed and cutlery chosen for the craft of eating that which Saturn is supplying, the same cycle of each day's dawn. Barely a word is even said once everything is complete and the food is flung onto the table. Eating is all that follows in the same familiar silence of this beaten and broken family.
Soap soaks within a vat of water while swirls spin with shimmering stains of color against the backgrounds of the soaking silverware. With breakfast given and the others preparing for work Saturn speedily pulls on a pair of jeans and a scarlet turtleneck sweatshirt, one of his normal senses of style. Saturn's steps lead him towards the door but suddenly stop as he snags the leather shoulder strap bag from the floor. With his only actual anchor to this dreary district now secured he allows the chilling claws of the morning mists to embrace him entirely.
Not another single soul stirs along the streets Saturn travels while the sun still sits hidden before its full rise. When first awakening for the pains of the past Saturn was certain he missed the moment, but luckily it was only the earliest beams which had breached his room's window. A rare slightly smile spurs across Saturn's face as his pace picks up when his perfect place comes into view. A hill secluded from the city he lived in and where the sunset and rise could be seen with crystal clarity, a perfect escape from the eternal damnation of his sadness' shackles.
Upon the precipice of the ascension Saturn sets up his single aisle and prepares to paint the sky which will crown the city in certain breathtaking colors. A sense of calm blossoms into fruition as the first brilliant beams of day break across the sky's spectrum. Saturn's brush falls against the canvas.
