Screams split. Cries crest from little lips. A bottle breaks glass glinting against the low light of the candles. Tears trickle into pools on wooden boards as footsteps fall hastily out the door. Shouts seem to follow the shadow as it runs, as it trips, as it returns to running. Blood slides down arms from the boy's sliced skin beneath the bright light of the moon above. Its just another night in the Asker household.
Sniffling the small shadow slips silently into an abandoned warehouse for what is far from the first time. A flick switches as low lighting hums into ethereal existence. Hands wipe tears from his fallen face but replace water with blood. His fingers furl around the sticky scarlet substance as he takes a towel from his pocket. Soon scarlet stains what once was a white dish rag.
A sudden sound of another switch stems soft music from a nearby stereo. Aja walks to center of the space ignoring the watery wells within his eyes. The song surges into its true rhythm as motion leads to movement of the boy's body. He focuses on the dance, just like always.
