My abilities for the family trade became apparent from a young age. Hours were spent spinning cards and dealing decks within the solitude of my room. Tricks were taught and then worked to precise perfection. Cards and the magic I could perform with them became my everything. To this day I like to believe my skills bring not only a smile but pride to my parents' faces. There really is nothing like a child mastering the family trade.
I keep my other uses for my certain capabilities hidden from view however. I never have been the type to just accept what others have that I might want, apparently jealousy isn't my greatest quality. Thankfully my sister Amelia and I devised a plan to fix these simple urges. Steal. Doing my tricks before a person or a crowd is such an easy device of distraction. The almost never notice the small shape of my little sister sliding between their pockets.
Naturally we aren't just simple distract and rob type of people, no those are too easy to find out. The system I've created acts as the center of our strategy. Whichever of the four face cards I reveal in a trick corresponds to specific plan we take, how much we steal, and where we escape to. In my opinion, not too bad for two kids "down on their luck" in District Twelve.
