"Ratmas time is here! Ratmas time is here! Cora screamed as she jumped on her daddy's bed. His voiced grumbled in deep warm browns as he told her to go downstairs. She could already see the blues and greens of her brother's voices coming up the stairs before the sound reached her on her tiny ears. Her dark brown eyes bouncing with her curls as she runs down the stairs, following the colors of the voices. She's always seen the world in other colors, more than most can see. Coralee always told her daddy that he was a beautiful, thick, warm brown and he would usually just laugh it off, but to her it's lovely. She loves to listen and watch people speak to see the ways in which the colors move and interact with each other. When she get's passed the colors, she is actually a great listener as well, and loves having tons of people around her, they create a symphony of colors.

The white satin nightgown accentuates the deep color of her skin, and while she does not stand out in the District, she stands out from the rest of her family. Her daddy and her brothers are all lighter than her, and all in various shades. She knows that she isn't family in the same way as other brothers and sisters are, Cora knows that none of them are, but she wouldn't trade her family for the world. Also, her dad doesn't know that she knows so she keeps it quiet for now.
